Booked a rental through the AA as our car was in for work to be done. When collecting the car, the person doing the inspection was not thorough and was also trying to sell me the extras to reduce excess etc quite hard. I said that I wasn't going to be using the car that much only if I needed to and i didnt because I was terrified that something would happen and I'd have to pay the exorbitant £500 excess. Return the car (early) the following day, and person inspecting the car sees tyre damage. I explain that the car was hardly used and that the person the day before was not as thorough as she was (she actually ran her fingers over the tyres when the person the day before did not) so that damage was most likely there the day before. She was not interested. Very odd how when I refused to take out the extras after the guy trying to sell it so hard (specifically the tyre extras) that when I return now I need to pay £500! Also convenient how the person from the day before wasnt on duty when I returned the car. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of money especially during the current times and the woman who dealt with us was not interested in the fact that a fellow staff member had not done their inspection properly. I also requested to see the previous returns inspection to ascertain if the damage was there from the previous rental and was told this is not possible. Will definitely be calling the AA to inform them and will never recommend Enterprise to anyone.

Returned an SUV car (having already paid for damage cover) with a surface scratch and Enterprise representatives could not express more desire to consider such as ‘body damage’ - and charge for that - despite the fact the scratch only penetrated the lacquer coat. It seems to me Enterprise are solely looking for opportunities to increase their fees (a long standing tradition) which is highly DISAPPOINTING and at times unreasonable. I have been attempting to have successful rental experiences with Enterprise for some years, but the journey has been dismal. I personally could not recommend this service to anyone unfortunately.

Quick and friendly service. However, I asked the Enterprise Employee if I would be getting a refund for returning the car early and she confirmed. She never mentioned anything else about my receipt or charges etc. After leaving the branch and opening the rental receipt, I noticed that she overcharged me extra £25 as a “Miscellaneous Charge”.I called the branch and they refused to deal with the issue. I had to call the Edinburgh North branch where I picked up the vehicle, and they confirmed that the charge was wrong and refunded me the unnecessary charge of £25. Disappointing service from the Southampton branch.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Southampton Central Docks: excellent service, the staff were really nice, the van (Mercedes Sprinter) was very modern and comfortable and they returned us our deposit prontly. Everything was easy and convenience.
