Sorry folks — tech issues mean the new term of Storytelling Assemblies On Demand won't be starting for a while yet... But they will restart soon!
In the meantime, please continue to enjoy revisiting the archive at www.snailtales.org/assemblies
We celebrate Roald Dahl Day with a tale which perhaps inspired some of his own – from Angling Spring Wood, Dahl's local forest!
Storytelling Assemblies On Demand are every Thursday of term time. Watch this one at https://youtu.be/ITTcJhdwdas
Happy Roald Dahl Day! It was while walking through the Norway-esque Angling Spring Wood in Great Missenden that Dahl concocted many a wondustrious plot...
Why not celebrate Roald Dahl Day yourself with a daydreamalicious walk? Or take in a Norwegian folk tale...?
While we fix our Story Assemblies On Demand technical issues, why not prepare for Roald Dahl Day this Thursday with our Dahl-inspired free video? Or rather, a video containing a tale that inspired Dahl...!
Find it at https://youtu.be/ITTcJhdwdas
Alas (as you may have realised by now...) unexpected technical issues are preventing us from sharing the first free Storytelling Assembly video of term. 🙁
We're racing around trying to fix the problem to have it with you before the end of today — please bear with us!
Our "Storytelling Assemblies On Demand" begin again next week! Yet more free tales for primary schools to regularly enhance their children's literacy, engagement and awareness, every #FolkloreThursday.
Catch up on the stories so far at www.snailtales.org/assemblies!
Because he brought so much joy to billions, we think Aug 11th should be #RobinWilliamsDay! His zany yet often touching characters could easily lift the spirits, but his battle with depression is a sign we should all be aware of this truly tragic illness.
We reckon Robin would've got on like a hutch on fire with Brer Bunny. Not only were they as wacky as each other, but Robin was born in the Chinese Year of the Rabbit! So to celebrate #RobinWilliamsDay this year, why not enjoy our Brer Bunny Bop? Find it at www.snailtales.org/bunnybop!

What a way to end our 11th year! A crammed audience for "The First King of England in a Dress" (about 160 inside, and a big sorry to the 100-odd who had to be turned away to other attractions because our hall was full...), all in the gorgeous surroundings of Buckfast Abbey — followed by a book signing with special surprise guest Dave Hingley, our illustrator!
Massive thanks to all the team at Buckfast, especially Karen, Anna and Alison, for giving us such a wonderful welcome and support throughout the week. We hope to be back before too long...!
We'll be going LIVE from the Buckfast Abbey Story Slam in just about 2min! Join us then...!
This was the inside of Buckfast_Abbey at 6:45am today, where the monks sang their "Matins" prayers enchantingly.
Those fairy lights at the back? That's actually a unique style of stained glass!
See some of the Abbey's storytelling festival via Facebook Live later today!
Can you believe it's been a whole year of our FREE story videos for schools? Join us in this celebratory look back, in which we answer questions like, "Where do our stories come from? What are the different ways we tell them? And just why do we tell stories anyways?!"
