Workout Wednesday The Stapler Curl is the main excersie for this Wednesday. Trusty staplers are always guarded closely. Seated or standing, take the stapler in one hand with the palm facing upwards. Starting at the thighs, bend the elbow and curl the arm up towards the chest, just like a regular dumbbell biceps curl. Pause momentarily and then lower the stapler back down. Continue for 12-15 reps, then switch.

Talking Tuesday When communicating it is important to use humour, at the appropiate time. Laughing releases endorphins that can help relieve stress and anxiety; most people like to laugh and will feel drawn to somebody who can make them laugh. Don’t be afraid to be funny or clever, but do ensure your humour is appropriate to the situation. Use your sense of humour to break the ice, to lower barriers and gain the affection of others. By using appropriate humour you will be perceived as more charismatic.

Mindfulness Monday This week we are looking at the importance of eating your breakfast mindfully. If you eat breakfast, even if it is something simple like a piece of toast or a cup of yogurt, then consider making breakfast a mindful activity. Mindful eating involves both what you eat and how you eat it. Being mindful about your breakfast is a great way to reevaluate your food choices while slowing down enough to appreciate what you are eating. Eating healthy foods at breakfast can set the stage for smart food choices throughout your day.

Fruity Friday
Apples are free of fat, sodium, and cholesterol. Antioxidants, high dietary fiber, vitamin C, and a few vitamin B are responsible for the long list of health benefits attributed to apples. They are energy-dense and water-rich fruits which helps you feel full. They are rightly called ‘nutritional powerhouse’.
The other important nutrients in apple include vitamin K, potassium, copper, manganese, and magnesum. Apples are very good sources of dietary fiber and a s...ingle serving provides 12% of the daily fiber requirement. They are also packed with phytonutrients and flavonoids like quercetin, epicatechin, phloridzin, and other polyphenolic compounds.
The health benefits of Apples are aids digestion, prevents cancer, prebiotic effects, reduces strokes, boosts immune system and controls diabetes.

Workout Wednesday Believe it or not, some deskercises can be kept under wraps, and this isometric glutes exercise is one of them. To start toning, simply squeeze the buttocks, hold for 5-10 seconds, and release. Repeat until the agenda wraps up or the glutes tire. The results will be uplifting in more ways than one.

At Epica Health & Safety we always like to stay prepared, as this help us work more efficiently… Another way we stay prepared is monthly retention checks that we carry out in the office. These are checks for Training, Equipment Testing and Accreditations. We check that all these requirements are up to date for you. This allows us to be prepared for any expiring documents and remind you at least two months in advance.

At Epica Health & Safety we always like to stay prepared, as this help us work more efficiently… One way we stay prepared is having an Office Day every Friday. This means all technicians are in the office together on a Friday, with Service Coordinators and Admin. This is a great time for us to catch up on the past week and prepare for the following. After Fridays, technicians are all set for the week ahead, which helps us work more efficiently.

Mindfulness Monday
This Mondays task is to set daily intentions. Think about the difference between the following two statements:
1. I plan to finish my project by 3:00 today.
... 2. I intend to finish my project by 3:00 today.
Which statement is more powerful? Which one makes you believe that the person making the statement is more likely to follow through?
To intend to do something has more potency than to plan to do it. Intention implies determination, will, and resolve. There’s a boldness to an intention that a plan can never muster.
When you set a daily intention, you resolve to make it happen, come hell or high water. You are determined to prioritize this action or mind-set to the exclusion of other activities in order to assure you make it happen. Intentions give you a sense of purpose, as well as the inspiration and motivation to achieve your purpose.

Fruity Friday This weeks fruit is the delicious Blueberry. The fiber, potassium, folate, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and phytonutrient content in blueberries supports heart health. The absence of cholesterol from blueberries is also beneficial to the heart. Fiber content helps to reduce the total amount ofcholesterol in the blood and decrease the risk of heart disease.
