Following reports of potential fraudsters claiming to be from the Fire Service and specifically our Station, here is some handy information:
You will likely be expecting us to contact you.
We always carry identification which can be validated.
... We wear Humberside Fire and Rescue Service uniform.
We will likely be in a fire engine or badged up vehicle.
We will not get offended if you ask us to prove who we are.
If you are unsure refuse the initial contact, arrange a predetermined visit and have a relative or friend with you. Again we do not get offended and will work with you.
We never ask for money.
