Come along to our fabulous event to find out more about the lives of the people who lived her 300 years ago, Mrs Wesley will be in her Kitchen & Rev Samuel in in Study and both will be happy to tell you all about their joys and troubles. ... but if you see Susanna with her apron over her head, she's having some quiet time to herself 😀 and perhaps doesn't want to talk to anyone!
Mrs Wesley's birthday celebrations continue with a living history day on Saturday 27 July. She will be in her kitchen baking bread over an open fire - come and wish her 'happy birthday'!
Will be a wonderful evening
We are so looking forward to you coming to the Rectory garden next week
Our next fabulous event, celebrating Susana's 350th birthday is a living history day on Saturday 27 July, where you will be royally entertained by the Chansonniers - a first class band of musicians from York who will be playing music that Susanna may have known and danced to!
Sharing this from the Wesley Museum in London, so happy birthday from all us at the Rectory too
The sun is finally shining, the lavender is in full bloom & everything smells divine
This will be fun
Please share, this is going to a magical evening in a very special place
Epworth Music Day is in full swing LITERALLY. there's still plenty of time to come & join the FUN
I've been at a conference for the past few days at the Civil War Centre in Newark. It is fabulous and I thoroughly recommend it. If you can go on one of the walking tours led by Royalist supporter & 17th diarist Mr Trentimen. Both informing & entertaining. I can't recommend highly enough
We have a living history day coming up on Saturday 27 July when Mrs Wesley will be getting ready for a party and York early music band Chansonnerie will be entertaining us
I just love this photograph of our 'Mrs Wesley' with Jasmine Yeboah reading from 'From a Mother's Pen', a collection of Susanna's writings
