“More than a decade and a half ago, my wife Beatrice had an idea. An Idea that I thought was brilliant.
In the world of healing , care and medicine there are many different branches. Sometimes these branches (Or types of healing) compete with each other and sometimes they compliment. To think of a few Medicine as a profession comes to mind immediately, but others like physiotherapy, dietary advice as well as massage, Reiki, Reflexology and Acupuncture have also been found by many to be beneficial to them.
From my own experience I have found that many people find the typical Western Medical model disempowering and often not helpful in the way they would prefer it. At first the response in many quarters of Medicine seems to be one of dismissal if not outright animosity to these individuals. The problem for me was that there seemed to be so many people like that, that to dismiss them all would seem not only foolish but severely arrogant.
To compound matters, I found when looking into the world of “Alternative” medicine a similar attitude often prevails towards Western Medicine. Using the argument that if two opposing views are in a heated debate as to their own value as well as each other’s-you often find that both parties are “right AND wrong” at the same time.
The old adage that some arguments add more heat and very little light seemed ever so pertinent.
Meaning that there is most likely value in both, if only one is willing to be open-minded about both.
So why not combine both viewpoints under one roof. Then create an environment that is open and friendly while at the same time professional. Men, women and children, individuals from all walks of life and from all persuasions are made to feel welcome in an environment that aims to shape treatment and support around individual needs.
We surrounded ourselves with passionate and talented individuals with similar outlooks on care. Over time we created an “area of calm and healing” with access to a wide variety of Medical and Complementary therapies to provide or facilitate.
As a true family enterprise we involve most of our family in one way or another and the culture in the clinic is one of family and care. In this way our therapists similarly have become part of our extended family. All working with the same ethos and attitude of love and care. ”
