As we ring in the new year, we also welcome along a newbie on the coaching staff at EVC. Toby Shaer is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer and has toured all over the world in venues such as The Sydney Opera House and The Royal Albert Hall.
He'll be joining us at the Songwriting School to give the students some some much needed guidance on all things music industry.

We're jumping on the top 9 band wagon this evening and giving thanks for everything we've achieved in 2018. These photos are just a tiny snapshot of all of the wonderful things that have been going on over the past year. We've had many showcases, a full scale production, written songs, recorded songs, sung together and had a jolly good time whilst doing it! We're super thankful for each and every single one of you and cannot wait to get back to it. Happy New Year everyone!

Spotlight 🌟 on Emily today, who came to us in just over a year ago now for singing lessons with Louisa. She had no experience whatsoever, having NEVER sang in front of other people, solo or as part of a group.
Fast forward 12 months and she's now performed in both a small and large venues, as a solo artist and as part of a group. Emily has stepped out of her comfort zone on numerous occasions, her voice has come on leaps and bounds, her musicality is growing all of the time, as are her playing skills. And she's made new friends ❤️.
Here she is getting ready to play her own song to an audience for the first time - 'Lonely White Room' taken at our Saturday Songwriting School.

Rehearsals were well under way for our end of year showcases, this weekend. Here’s Liv rehearsing her version of ‘Ivy’ by Mabel

Does your child have a flair for creative writing and/or music? Have they expressed an interest in writing lyrics, melodies, playing? Aimed at kids of Junior school age, this workshop introduces the concept of songwriting and helps children learn how to start and structure their own songs.

Ahead of the launch of our beginners guitar for adults, in January - we’re running a free taster session on Monday 5th December at 9pm with our resident Guitar expert; Nicola Collis.
Who is this class for?
For adults who want to learn to play guitar. The class is aimed at complete beginners or those who started and stopped very quickly. The taster session will give you a feel for Nicola’s teaching style and help you decide if you’d like to start the regular classes from January

We were extremely lucky to have Owen Williams Music along to the Songwriting School today.
He spoke to the kids about his music, his experience of launching an album and collaboration.
