Ethnic Minority Women'S Forum

About Ethnic Minority Women'S Forum

The Ethnic Minority Women's Forum was established in August 2020, and is based on evidence that people from ethnic minority backgrounds are under-represented across the Civil Service. This is notable in the Senior Civil Service, but also in the grade which act as a pipeline to Senior roles. Our aim is to share knowledge and improve the experiences and outcomes of ethnic minority women in the Civil Service and create a supportive professional environment for all those who identify as ethnic minority women. This is a space to meet with liked-minded individuals to drive forward real change which benefits not only ethnic minority women but all those working in the Civil Service. We believe that intersectionality is at the core of our message and we welcome ethnic minority women and allies to join the discussion. Our objectives: • To be a ‘Brilliant Civil Service' and help the Civil Service achieve its aim of becoming the UK's most inclusive employer by 2020. • To be committed to creating a diverse and inclusive culture within the Civil Service• To encourage and maintain a safe and positive working environment for ethnic minority women and the elimination of discrimination for employees. • To develop, maintain and promote a network that provides support and encourages diversity across the Civil Service. Please contact us for details to join and to sign up to our monthly newsletter. This account is managed by the EMWF Committee.
