Back in 2000, the Zapatista group of autonomous indigenous people in Southern Mexico reclaimed 50,000 hectares of land in eastern Chiapas and set about farming it. Today, around 200,000 people from 1,000 villages are now gainfully employed with the money they make being reinvested in their villages to improve their health, education, water and food production infrastructure. The water projects have been the highest priority for the Zapatista people and their fresh water supply and improved sanitation have brought immeasurable benefits and drastically reduced infant mortality rates and illness due to water-borne diseases. Quite simply, the success of the Café Rebelde Zapatista coffee production supports several villages and ensures the community is self-sufficient and able to work and live on the land.

Yep, burger mix was really good, enough for the two of us for at least three meals!

We tried the buger mix with Suma Pasta and Suma Pasta sauce- excellent when served with salad. The burgers weighed about 4oz each (cooked weight) and cost about 40p each- excellent value. Even the staunch meat eaters were impressed. I would really recommend these products and will definately buy them again. Can't wait to try the Sos mix. Bring out the BBQ!

They sell loads of good ethical stuff, food and household gear, and the guy who served us (runs it I think?) is super nice and friendly. Hooray for my new toothbrush which will help after eating all the ace food we got.
