Europcar Colchester

Rented a motor here for a week. Really simple and hassle free.

I regularly rent with EUROPCAR in Colchester.. the daily cost is a great rate for daily hire (cheapest in my area) the car selection is great and more so i find the staff really helpful & accomodating to my rental options as I have had to changed my options without notice & every time they have had no problem upgrading for me.
They are professional & down to earth & do a great job A++++++++++

Worst company I've ever known.... I wouldn't give any stars if I had the option... u pay deposit and then it takes MONTHSSSSS to get it back.... WORST COMPANY EVER

Out in the industrial parks in Colchester. You need transport to get there. Taxi seems the best option

If i could give no stars I would! The insurance company arrange a hire vehicle from europcar to be delivered at 9am but it never arrived. On phoning europcar i was told I could get one for 11.30, I asked if i could get it earlier and the phone operator said they would try to contact the branch, unfortunately no one at the branch could answer the phone. So I walk up there, all the staff are standing around doing nothing, maybe the phones on silent, who knows? I was told that 11.30 was the earliest they can do and i leave the branch.

I phone the insurance company and rearrange everything for the next day. By now im over an hour late and in a rush but i still have the courtesy to stick my head in and let them know i don't want the 11.30 car, my experience had all ready led me to believe no one would communicate it to them.

As i felt the service had been terrible i let them know so by telling them that the company was c*#@ and i would see them in the morning.

To my surprise they then told the insurance company i was abusive and if i was like it again they wouldn't serve me! You must be joking! Rude, hell yes, i have just received some of the most inept service ever. But i was completely non threatening and didn't insult any staff.

My advise to the public is to go elsewhere and my advise to europcar is to run some complaints handling training or just improve service in the first place.

No one from head office or the local branch has offered any apology.

rented a van for a day with them about a year ago. pick up and delivered back with no problems. good prices !

Choosing the Europcar would be the last thing you wanna do cuz they don't provide spare wheel and neither inform you if you don't ask. The thing is if someone does need a spare wheel like me than you will have to cancel your trip, suffer in windy about 60 minutes, wait someone get you and the car back and pay EXTRA £270 for the recovery fees.
