Europcar Gatwick were great. We got a good deal on a diesel upgrade and really enjoyed the car, which was perfect for our requirements. The staff were freindly, and professional. I was particularly impressed with the drop off - it was extremely quick and hassle free. Overall a great experience. We have used Europcar three separate times on this holiday and this was the best for sure. I am generally happy with their services. Keep up the good work guys
I was lucky to have great service, having been let down by another company when I went to collect a pre booked car. The Europcar staff who I dealt with were both extremely helpful and got me on my way quickly.
Only missing the 5th star as on return, when I asked for a receipt to confirm car was in good condition at return, I was treated gruffly- I have been 'bitten' before by a subsequent spurious claim for damage so am careful to get this assurance!
You are kidding me. ÂŁ78 for a hire car across 3 days, fair enough, but charge ÂŁ60 for a pair of kids car seats for the same period - downright disgusting. You'd probably steal candy from a kid of it were legal wouldn't you. I can pick up a pair of seats from argos down the road for under ÂŁ60 new but you know I won't so you're gonna take advantage of that. Been a long time customer of Europcar but this will definately be the last.
We were told that our chosen car was unavailable but were given another with built in satnav (I was told this would be an extra ÂŁ15 which was stupid because the last car I had came with satnav for free). I agreed to this and then asked for a later drop off which was fine with the customer service rep, and she stamped the paperwork. Upon receipt I questioned the extra cost (up from ÂŁ108 to ÂŁ211) and was told it was some kind of deposit which I would get back after drop off. During the hire period I found the satnav so crap I bought a map (Google "satnav problem Jeep Renegade"). Upon drop-off everything was fine until Europcar emailed my invoice.... I was charged ÂŁ239 because the car was late back (despite being within the time limit agreed at the start) and there is no sign of the deposit refund. I am extremely upset but hopefully Europcar will resolve this because our last experience with them was pretty good.
Never again, they obviously do not care about company reputation. The amount of bad reviews is astronomical, surely the company knows that the unhappy customer tells all their friends & the friends go on to tell theirs etc so word spreads.
They could not care less about robbing pensioners out of their hard earned savings. Do yourselves a favour & steer clear.
My husband was conned and bullied into buying third party insurance he didn’t require and was charged for an upgrade he didn’t ask for. When we asked for a refund we were told they would email head office who would get in touch 5 weeks later we still hadn’t heard from head office. Now 7 weeks on and still nothing from head office. We will never use this company again!

Got a car with damages not mentioned in the rental agreement. Upon returning, a rude agent tried to put the blame on me...
Well, then they ended up changing me for the cleaning of the car, as if I was renting the car to leave it unused!
Bye bye, Europcar! You just lost another customer.

J’ai réservé un véhicule que je devais récupérer à l’aéroport de Londres Garwick. Là -bas on me dit que le véhicule que j’ai réservé est trop petit par rapport à mon besoin (contrairement à ce qui était écrit lors de la réservation par internet). Et on m’impose de prendre un véhicule bien plus grand. Résultat j’ai payé 5X ce que je devais payer lors de ma réservation, celle-ci ne m’a d’ailleurs pas été remboursée. On m’a fait croire que ce que je payais était une caution alors que ce n’était pas le cas. Et maintenant quand je demande réparation au service client d’europcar on me répond que j’ai signé le contrat en toute connaissance de cause. C’est une arnaque bien rodée !!!! C’est une honte d’abuser de la faiblesse des personnes étrangères.
NE JAMAIS LOUER UN VÉHICULE DANS CETTE COMPAGNIE QUI A POURTANT PIGNON SUR RUE.
Be very careful booking with Europcar. They scam you into buying extra insurance. They did this to me when I travelled to my mothers funeral. The took an additional payment from my credit card.
Shameful.
