Avoid using the Europcar especially the kennington branch. Customer service is very poor i don't know why they even have staff there they don't do anything.
Watch out they will alway try and find something or someway to scam you out of your money.

Awful customer service. I got double charged for a congestion charge fine as Amex called me to confirm that it isn't a fraudulent charge. 1 month later and I still have not received a refund despite raising this issue via phone and email. Completely ignored.

BE WARNED!!! - Europcar’s customer “service” is non existent. And everyone who works for this company is trained in the art of avoidance. They avoid phone calls saying “the person we need to speak to is on annual leave”, they avoid emails and Facebook messages simply by not responding and when they do respond we receive generic messages telling us they are "looking into the case". They have wrongfully charged us £210 and will not even give us the courtesy of replying to our numerous messages and attempts to resolve the issue.

Returned 2 cars on August 28th after a long weekend away. Had arranged a late return but on arrival at the rental station the carpark was completely full so we parked in a legal carpark on the road opposite and returned the keys. The next morning we called the branch over 20 times with no response and eventually spoke the customer service who assured us that we had done all we could and in their eyes the car was considered returned. We told her where the car was and that it needed to be moved to avoid a parking fine.

2 weeks later we got a letter from Europcar saying the car received a parking fine and we have to pay. On top of the fine they also charged an admin fee of £40 and charged us twice despite only notifying us about one of the vehicles. Outrageous considering the only reason they got the fine is due to their own negligence at not moving the car earlier. We started complaint proceedings and for the last 6 weeks have been constantly trying to resolve this issue.

We did everything in our power to get the car safely returned and went above and beyond what was expected of us. The cars were no longer our responsibility when the fines were issued. Our solicitors are recommending we lodge a dispute through the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA). We still cannot believe it has come to this, but as a result would recommend avoiding Europcar at all costs.

Appalling customer service. A week later and they still haven't refunded my deposit. Impossible to speak to a human being once they've taken your money. Branch phone number puts you through to a voicemail saying there's no one to take your call and you can't leave a message and no one responds to emails. Worst car rental experience I've ever had.

Really pleased - the pick up was pretty straightforward, the car great, and the drop off really quick. Even the price was reasonable!

As car rental places go it's ok, nothing special and it takes an age for the phones to be answered. If you're expecting a car pick up at a certain time be prepared for that to slip! If you've requested satnav double check that you have it before you arrive, assuming you can get through of course.

Very efficient and helpful. No problems. This was in notable contrast to Avis/Budget who were truly useless, and cancelled my booking because they ran out of vehicles. I definitely recommend Europcar.

Very poor customer service with exceptionally rude staff. They call and request card number unexpectedly and without introducing or identifying themselves properly. Other car hire companies take this at the roadside where you know whom you are dealing with. Very poor telephone manner. They didn't answer the phone for half an hour of constantly trying. Refused to let us make a complaint 4 times. When we request to speak to a manager they hung up.

Great staff always willing to help. Can be busy at times , so have to be patient but staff and SM are always willing to assist. Good variety of cars and easy access from central london

Cars are okay, but hated the customer service experience here. Un friendly un helpful. I asked to talk to the manager about my car issue and he wouldn't come out of his office to speak to me. The front level staff went back and forth carrying messages but he manager wouldn't come out of his office at all to deal with my issue. I was the only person in the office - no other customers so it was hardly busy. I wasted a lot of time to get no help.

Try kendle cars down the road. They are cheaper, same quality of cars, and if there is an issue they fix it - or at least listen to you and try!

I DO NOT recommend using these guys.

"The whole experience was excellent. The car was dropped off at my central London hotel. It was a brand new and very comfortable vehicle (a Hyundai i40). It managed all my travel on a single tank of fuel. Since I wasn't sure of my end-of-trip plans, I dropped the car at the rental village at Manchester Airport, a five minute walk from my hotel. Thank you, I will certainly use your company again!"
