Before my trip to London I was a bit scared to rent a car here as there are so many bad opinion about those guys. However I took it from Keddys by Europcar. I had a car for 3 days and have no accident or scratch. Returned it with full tank and clean. Did about 450 miles out from 600 available (200 limit per day).
After all I told my girlfrined that it was fine and if they return our deposit fully (as they should) I will write them a good opinion as there are so many bad.
And here we are... They kept 30 pounds for no reason - the cost of the car for 3 days rental was 50 pounds. So if you take a car from them you have to add 60% to the price. What is the reason to take a pathetic Corsa for that price? Why they scam so many people with no reason?

Criminals.
I arrived with my family after a long day travelling and they refused to give me the car that I had already reserved (and paid for).
Firstly they claimed that the car reserved was too small for a family of four (it was an astra).
After I proved that our 2 suitcases would fit in the boot (easily)
they then claimed that when I booked online that I didn't have the necessary insurance and that the only way I could take the vehicle was to add extra insurance. The insurance cost was a great deal more than the vehicle rental. What kind of company allows you to rent a car without the necessary insurance to drive on the road???
After I explained that the basic insurance to drive on the road should be included, the aggressive boy behind the desk refused to discuss further and offered to cancel the deal, but not refund what I had already paid!!.

It was late at night so there were no other options for us, and the aggressive little boy knew that. I had no choice but to take the car with the intention of settling the matter the following day.
The next day I called numerous times to the main customer service but all they offered was to take the car back, but I would still need to pay for the car + insurance + a drop off fee as I was in a different location. What a joke!

All in, I lost probably £300 during this rental compared to the original amount I paid.

I normally use Europcar at least 3 times a year (not this office) but since this incident I have not been back, and never will, but I suppose they don't need regular customers, nor do they care.

Avoid at all costs or get ripped off like I did (and the majority of reviewers).

Absolutely first class. Pricing very cheap. Service. super fast service.. In out on the the road 10 minutes after landing.. free upgraded car... Don't know how the competition can be any better..

Very aggressive and unfriendly staff. They even demand to see documentation that is not listed on their booking confirmation!

Wow what brilliant customer service. Our car broke down and the recovery people told us to go here to get a hire car home. We did only to find out they hadn't checked ahead and no cars where available. The two gentlemen kept me calm explained to the recovery people they could not help explained we had a child and talked them into paying for a taxi home for us. Couldn't get better service thank you

Keddy = Europcar (Found out it’s the exact same thing at this airport).

I was skeptical of renting from these guys after reading some reviews here, but I eventually gave it a chance. I read up on all the terms, nothing out of the ordinary, I took the local insurance which was 25£ per day for a medium car. I snapped some pictures of the car just in case and after I left the parking lot a warning light came on saying that I had low tire pressure. So I went back, explained the situation, and with no questions asked I received a new car. Returning it went very smooth, only took me like 2 minutes in total. The checked the car, which had dents in it from before, but they did not comment on it since they probably knew that they were from before (Also, I had my pictures in back-up). A very pleasant experience, I would recommend anyone to rent from them and I will rent from these guys again if I come back to Stansted. Remember that these guys rents out hundreds of cars per day and they have a total of 73 reviews. The majority of people who go in and write reviews do it because of a negative experience, so the majority of reviews will naturally be negative. The terms and conditions, which some people have been complaining about, are clearly stated both when you rent the car as well as on the voucher you print. Anyways, I hope this review helps some of you guys out. Have a good one.

We have used Europcar for our car rental needs for many years, both at home and overseas. The reasons? Their prices are competitive, the cars are always fairly new and in a good clean condition and the pick up and return is painless. What else do you want from a rental company?

At the counter everything was OK, quick, without any problem. Then a few days after the hire, when I got the invoice mailed to me, I found some extra fee of 18GBP charged to my credit card. I asked them what the fee was all about in an email. They explained things all right, but it was over a month after the query. As for me, the service is OK, only the customer contact is too late.

I went to change my car over as I had a long term hire, one of the agent was very unhelpful and a left with a car that I was not happy with. The next day I went back to change it and I spoke to a very helpful Abdul who put me in contact with the agent that I spoke to on the phone (thank you Abdul for going out of your way). I then spoke to Pedro who found me 4 cars that I could pick from, because of Pedro I was able to pick a very nice car that I was happy with, Pedro thank you for great customer service, the company needs more staff like you. Hired Opel Astra from London Stansted airport. I was told at the counter they don’t have any compact car left and they can give me different car – upgrade. Nothing about extra surcharge for this upgrade was mentioned.
I was in hurry going to the meeting so signed all the papers and left. I was only informed about extra cost of £ 12 for some extra insurance which I was fine with and which (as only surcharge) was written to the order I brought.
I have paid using my company credit card and 3 weeks later I got information that another 54 € was deducted from this card. When I’ve called there they told me this fee was for the upgrade + extra insurance. They've sent me the invoice and everything was written in the new documents I have received but I didn't go through all the documents. But the most important thing is, they should at least ask you if you agree with this extra costs for upgrade you didn't ask for and not just give you better car without saying anything.

I have rented many cars in different companies, got upgrade almost every time and they have never charged me extra as it is not customers fault they don’t have (or claim they don’t have) the kind of car you have ordered.
The time before I used next door company at Stansted and got Jeep renegade instead of Skoda Octavia with no upgrade fee. I will never use Europcar again and will advice all colleagues in our company about this experience.

Quick and easy to deal with. Booked via phone,was in and out having picked up keys in no time. Car was great,clean and tidy. Have used Europcar at Stansted Airport several times and would highly recommend them. Drop off was quick and easy also. 1st class service. Thank you.
