Evaluation Programme

About Evaluation Programme

GlobalGiving is offering skilled monitoring and evaluation volunteer placements with some of our 2000 + grassroots project partners around the world.

Evaluation Programme Description

Could you be part of the Field Evaluation Programme in 2018 GlobalGiving runs this ground-breaking programme from the UK using skilled volunteers to support our grassroots project partners around the world.

GlobalGiving is the first and largest crowdfunding community, connecting donors, nonprofts and companies.

We want to make a sustainable difference to our project partners and this programme provides an invaluable opportunity to get involved with this frontline work. You will build a highly transferrable skillset; be it in the development or private /public sector.

You will play an important role in helping to raise awareness of our partners and their important work, alongside deeper engagement to help them thrive for the long term.

So, what is the Field Evaluation Programme?

The programme involves you, a trained GlobalGiving Project Evaluator, visiting organisations and their projects in-country for 4-5 days for an in-depth organisational assessment, alongside extensive digital communications work to help promote the partner’s work in real time to new audiences.

Working alongside our project partners through these in-person visits has four core benefits for the partner and for GlobalGiving.

They:

1) Help foster closer relationships. We want to highlight what partners are doing well and help them identify what they could do even better

2) Ensure robust assessment of project's transparency and effectiveness, including: past and projected impact, organisational effectiveness, and financial transparency, accountability and governance

3) Identify training and support needs that GlobalGiving may be able to assist with

4) Improve projects communications with current and prospective donors through social media posting and organisation-wide story telling

What does a volunteer Project Evaluator do?

All assessments and meetings are organised prior to the visit and volunteers assess one organisation per week, write up and submit assessments that same week. These assessments will consist of interviews, observations, text based research, analysis, and report writing.

If this sounds like something that would appeal to you, read more on our website https://www. globalgiving.org/aboutus /who-we-are /project-evaluators / and apply by January 31st 2018.

Last week, Victor and Andriana visited GlobalGiving partner Sambhali Trust -" Empowering women and children in Rajasthan". They visited one of their empowerment centres, which one of the women described as 'a place where she can be herself and feel empowered by women of every caste and background'. Show some love to their fabulous project here https://www.globalgiving.org/…/domestic -violence-in-india-…/

Unreal experience!! I learnt so much about what it looks like to run an organisation on the ground. A year later, and you can see some of the recommendations made being used by the organisation. Its so humbling and utterly rewarding. GGUK's training is phenomenal and prepares you for what is a challenging and fun volunteering experience.

User

Have learnt some incredible things thus far both on the field and in the training sessions. I really recommend this program to anyone wanting to engage in a challenging yet rewarding volunteer experience

User

Exposure to wonderful individuals with a passion for engaging communities! GGUK is supportive throughout the whole experience.

Challenging, but extremely rewarding programme! Met some really amazing people running inspiring projects in Ghana. Would recommend as a different kind of volunteer experience.
