I recently purchased a couple of bits of winter clothing and a joe blow pump, which was more impulse than a planned purchase. Bought it home left it for a week, went to pump up bike yesterday and realised the head for the presta valve was missing... having spent a couple of grand at this store over summer I was told that the pump had left the store with that fitting on it.. now considering my car was outside the store and the distance is 3m unlikely I could have lost it and tried to explain to the manager that it was most likely not on there when I purchased it. I was told that I should go and order one from the manufacturer. It’s actually not even about the part, more about the principle of customer service. They’ve certainly lost my custom.

ordered a new bike online, pick-up date was delayed by few days with no apparent reason, went to pick it up and the guy couldn't find my order on the system so wasted another 10minutes waiting

they do not send a 6 week check reminder so if you go over you won't get it for free, they asked me to pay 60 pounds if I want to have it done.

Visited yesterday whilst passing through Birmingham, after some winter overshoes, found the pair I wanted, as I have many times in Evans Chester (my local ish Evans) I looked for them on line at a cheaper price and asked for a price match, the guy serving was less than interested, he looked online said the online store didn't have them and just moved on to talk to another customer. No further dialogue, not a word. At a very basic human level the guys attitude left a lot to be desired, very rude, customer service stank. Take my advice and go to Ciclisimo just up the road (but moving) really friendly in there. #evanscycles

Excellent service From a very well stocked store. We ordered 4 bikes for cycle to work scheme. They had been all checked and out together chap even helped load in car and showed great care in packing them very good service

Zero customer service

We felt we had to complain about the point of sale service as the guy serving us, we think this was in fact the manager, was so rude. Then despite us stating we didn't want the delivery left with a neighbour, they did just that. A big inconvenience for them and us.

After 2 weeks I took my bike in as there noise in high gears, this bit seemed to go smoothly and they claimed to have rectified the problem. All seemed ok.

I thought I'd at least make use of the 'health check' and 6 weeks after purchase we took the bikes in. They presented me with a charge for a replaced part. When I asked why I was being charged and why it wasn't covered under warranty, the girl serving stared blankly at me, and the chap just turned away. I insisted they explain this charge & they couldn't even tell me what had been replaced. He just said, we left u a voice mail, and tried to avoid engaging further with me. I told them I wouldn't pay until they could justify the charge, then they called a mechanic over and he cleared the charge from the system.

I still don't know what was replaced or why!! And my bike was missing a real light bracket.

There was one really friendly guy working there. We had a chat about outdoor clothing. He's wasted in this store.

Competitive prices but unenlightened management and customer relations. A direct appeal to the MD resulted in replacement of a faulty wheel but staff uninformed and argumentative. No apology from either HQ or Birmingham shop and not even a free service as a gesture of goodwill. Beware.

The wrong bike was delivered due to an error with the corrier. Evans reacted perfectly and sorted the problem out with minimal inconvinience to me. They even sent me a voucher to spend in store. 5 stars for customer service.

Collected a new mountain bike from Birmingham 25 Sep, and received excellent service and advice from Andrew K. He was very knowledgeable about the technical features of the bike and as a result I left feeling confident to use the bike to its potential. I am an experienced cyclist over many years so my expectations of bike shops are high. Well done Andrew

Shocking level of service. Took a Pinnacle bike wheel (their own brand) into the store to have the bearings replaced. They were not interested and quite unhelpful. They failed to service the wheel suggesting I should have a hub rebuild or a new wheel even. I went across to Cycle Republic and 15 minutes later walked out of the store with all the parts I needed. If I could give Evans a no star rating I would have. I’m never going back.
