These guys are superb! Nothing is too much trouble. Arnolds is like a magician. You go in with a small problem, turn your back for 60 seconds, and he's fixed it. HIGHLY recommended!!

I came to Evans after my bike seat was stolen - it is a bike brand they dont stock so they didn't have the right seat posts to replace it on the spot. However, Okwudily who was attending to my bike, spent a good 30 minutes trying to find a solution and finally managed to replace the seat and the seat post with what he had in store. The time and efforts he put into it were beyond anything I've ever experienced in a bike shop. Thanks so much!

Attitude never ceases to amaze me here. Absolutely the best place to experience truly bad and arrogant customer service.

Very helpful, once you finally get talking to a member of staff, as they are pretty busy dealing with each customer.
A week after buying a bike from there I was in store to get some adjustments made to the handlebar (for free which was nice) and saw the bike was now 10% off. Was able to get the discount retrospectively applied which was great

They Use the opportunity of your broken bike to still your money !

I went there last week to repair my bike and the guy told me to come back 2 days after because it was very busy then he told me to repair my bike will cost me 35£ with out the price of the piece to repair ... ok well I have to repair my bike so I will pay I though!
2 days after I went there to drop my bike, and the guy at the entrance says to me, we did a mistake on the diagnostic, to repair this part of the bike is 60£ !!!!
I was like no way ! You cannot tell me 35£ and then change it 2 days after to 60£ and when I'm gonna pay it will be 110£ or what ?
The guy told me : if you don't want to pay 60£ you can cancel the appointment...
I was very upset so I came back home and I went to cycle republic close to regents street. "Ben" who looks at my bike fix the problem in 20seconds ... just a small piece was missing and he didn't even charge me for anything!!!

So don't go to repair you bike in Evans cycles THEY WILL JUST STILL YOUR MONEY !

Great staff. Good mechanics. Usual reviews from pathetic entitled bitching whining British whingers who imagine that they are entitled to everything immediately for free - because they what - deserve it

Grow up.

Honestly don't get what all the complaints on here are about. When my bike chain broke in rush hour Camden and the nearest bike shop, Cycle Surgery, refused to help me for less than £130, I came to here. The guy behind the counter took one look at the chain, went out back and returned with a replacement link. He fixed the chain in about 2 minutes and declined to take any money for it. Lifesaver.

Maybe I'm lucky, maybe the staff has changed, but I can't relate to the experiences described by some other reviewers leaving a bad review.

A few weeks ago, I arranged a test drive. When I arrived for it, the bike was adjusted and looked over by a very friendly and professional mechanic.

I ended up buying said bike later, picked it up today and received equally helpful, professional and friendly service this time around.

I'm nothing but happy and can recommend Evans Chalk Farm highly.

A lot of issues with my bike during the first year but the head mechanic, Martino, did a fantastic job at fixing every issue. I bought a Norco bike and the warranty from Norco is frankly terrible but Evans were more than happy to cover any issues under their warranty which was always quick and stress free. Other shops make you cut through a lot of red tape but when I email the shop in chalk farm I get a direct response from the head mechanic who always advises me to bring in my bike for him to inspect and repair with no cost or questions asked. If you are looking for a good post sale service then I simply cannot recommend Evans in Chalk Farm more!

Needed new crank handle and staff was supposed to get the part. They couldn't. I the ordered it online and brought it in. They said they needed to do a hub servis on my Nexus 8-speed in order to fit it. Afterwards 2 gears were blocking. BikeZtube, whom I can highly recommend, found parts of the bearing in the gearbox part. I would give zero stars if I could...

Friendly service, but corporate ethics.
Unlike many other reviewers here, I was lucky to have a very friendly and helpful staff member to advise me on bikes. However, it is a big corporation making good £££ and paying slave wages, so I'd rather not support them (this might be why staff are not great according to the other reviews). Better support local independent businesses.

After months of investigating I finally decided on what seemed the perfect commuter bike. Unfortunately the staff member who served me didn't do a proper check of his bike setup. So half way way home on my first ride the pedals fell off, almost taking me with it. It seems the poorly fitted pedals ruined the the threads in the arm too. So far the manager has gotten back to me to say this will be replaced however I have now wasted so much time and energy on this I regret choosing To buy from here.
