Evans Cycles - Chelmsford

Have been using these guys for servicing for a number of months now... Excellent customer service, friendly and approachable. Know their stuff and have rectified problems that local 'specialists' have been unable to solve. Highly recommended

The bike was broken when I first rode it out the shop, rubbing brakes, gears not changing etc. After waiting 35 minutes for the 'mechanic' to figure out how to properly adjust gears I finally managed to cycle my new bike home.
After damaging the back wheel Evans refused to honour the 1 year warranty on a 3 month old bike. Accused me of dirt jumping and told me "you have to prove you haven't dirt jumped for the warranty to be valid". The bike has never been jumped and the Evans mechanics are so incompetent they can't even put a bike together correctly resulting in me going to cycles UK where they managed to repair the bike and put it together properly.

I took an old vintage frame in to have the bottom bracket re fitted. Matt & Rob couldn't have been more helpful.. 5 star service. They said it was a pleasure to work on quality kit :-)

Bought my Pinnacle 6 from them 18 months ago. Awesome bike and the guys at Evans are always helpful. Been there for all those things that you need to keep the bike going and they always have something to do the job. Had to have the bearings replaced in the rear wheel after 7500 miles and the guys did a great job. Didn't break the bank either!

Can't say enough good things about the mechanics at the Chelmsford Branch. Went in for a spare part for my CX bike and before I know it Rob T had it up in the work-stand and was fitting it for me. I wouldn't hesitate to take a bike in here again. Local bike shop quality of service from the big bike chain. Thanks guys!

Rob T is a lifesaver! I bought my bike from Halfords the previous day and they didn't fit the back wheel on properly. Rob was knowledgeable and made sure my bike was as roadworthy as possible. I will definitely be coming back for a service!

Visited the store today with my two little girls and a little bike in need of repair. I was in there for about 20mins. The guys were friendly and were happy to chat anything Disney with my kids while they were waiting/watching interestly in what they were doing. He serviced the bike as well. Just come back from a ride with kids and the bikes rides better for my daughter. Very reasonable, family friendly place. I'll be returning there for anything bike related from now on. :)

Great experience, helped me set up everything, talked me through how I can improve my riding... every question I threw at Josh he answered with the sort of detail that left me in no doubt. Set me up and adjusted my bike, cleats, Garmin, stellar customer service. Josh even wheeled my bike to the car park and helped me get it in the car... highly recommend Evans Cycles and highly recommend seeking out Josh for help when in store. If I could give ten stars I would!

Great staff and great bikes good price

Terrible service. I bought a new and expensive Cyclocross bike earlier this year, and the wheel bearings failed after a short period of light on-road use, (a few months). Evans refused to repair under warranty. Sadly it looks like I shall now have to use the UK courts to force them to comply with their warranty obligations.

Great staff, really relaxed feel, great service and great bikes.
