Very poor customer experience

I went there this morning hoping to get advise on a bike to purchase.
No one available to see me!!!! Nearly all staff behind the workshop chatting to each other.
I would have happily go to Halfords instead if it was not for the fact that my company cycle to work scheme was with Evans!!!!

Booked a bike fit... turned up... couldn't fit bike to the turbo trainer because it had disc brakes. Total waste of a day without any warning this might happen despite them knowing what bike I was bringing a month before hand. So my suspicion about Evans in general being the Sports Direct of the bike shop world was confirmed and to be honest I should have known better than to expect it to be an impressive experience.

Superb service.

Knowledgeable, helpful, patient and courteous. What more could you ask for. Was shown and taken through a selection of hybrids and mountain bikes, road tested each one and purchased the perfect cycle which cost less than my budget allowed for but was the ideal choice for my needs.

Bought lots of extra goodies too!!

Not a bad place, staff is usually helpful and know their stuff- if you ask them.

Had bike services and parts fittings and they were very good with helping me find the right size suspension and gave a good labour price for fitting. Only knack would be the finesse (front brake cable was not tightened and resulted in a very brown trousers moment at 30mph) but apart from that they're pretty good to go to

Took my bike in for some new BB30 bearings to be fitted and the service was exceptional. Really helpful, knowledgeable and got them done very quickly. Nick in the workshop really knew his stuff and the rest of the team could not have been more helpful.

Picked up a bike for my daughter. Really impressed with the level of service and attention to detail. Good product selection too.

I bought a £700 men's mountain bike using Ride2Work and asked for help choosing accessories; I was given CHILDREN'S BMX pedals, a £50 bike lock I was assured would fit my bike frame (but doesn't, so it's a wasted purchase) and staff failed to remove the discount from the car carry frame I bought. They also said they'd apply the lock and car frame but as soon as I paid they seemed to disappear; after 30 minutes of waiting I left the store without them being fixed. The place was heavily understaffed and the guy who served me (Tom) also seemed half asleep and kept yawning. Worse service I've had in years!!! If you have any options to shop somewhere else, please do so! Halfords in Godalming were so much better (and cheaper) with my wife's bike but sadly I couldn't use my Ride2Work voucher there.

Well judging by other reviews I will not be phoning back, what's the point they don't answer the phone - 20 rings and NO answer, that is Guildford and Woking. COMPLETELY USELESS, Do I have to give one star, it should be minus 5 !!!! - 12.50 pm 19/8/16 is when I tried. THIS COMPANY NEEDS A BIG MANAGEMENT SHAKE UP - THAT'S FOR SURE.
I am taking my money to CORRIDORI - Banstead, sy or FINCHES cycles Reigate, sy ....... So there you are, 2 fingers, you should be ashamed.
