Been into Evans Cycles MK store this morning slightly embarrassed with the problem I had. I'd purchased a set of carbon wheels over the internet and couldn't for the life of me get the tyre on the rear wheel. I'd called a friend and he failed, so I ended up in store, tail between my legs.
Spoke to a chap called Steve, who was brilliant! Said it was the 1st challenge of the day and would certainly except it. With that he proceeded to put the tyre on, no levers nothing! Just his hands.
Brilliant to watch and learn and can't thank him enough for saving me and my hands. Fantastic service and would definitely recommend Steve for any future tyre fitting problems! Thank you.

Went into Evans yesterday, with little to no knowledge of bikes whats so ever. Steve took his time and enthusiastically explained what I need to look out for in purchasing a bike fit for my frame and riding intentions, he ended up giving me somewhat of a crash course on bikes, really informative and helpful.
Best service I've received in a while Thank you Steve. Great work!

If you want to be ignored, go to Evans Cycles MK. Visited last Sunday looking to buy a child's bike and an adult hybrid. Staff ignored us and were happy chatting between themselves behind the counter. Shocking!

Very hit and miss, but my last interaction with Stephen at the MK store was a success. I went in with very low expectations. Stephen provided me with the obscure bolts I was looking for making me a very happy customer, unfortunately previous experience doesn't quite allow me to leave five stars. If staff interactions can be like Stephen's every time then they will be on to a winner.

Great sales advice and no pressure try before you buy. Nice people and good store.

Bought my bicycle last year. Spokes were loose and wheel was centered. I wasn't told that I'm eligible to free service after first month, so I lost it :-( On another occasion went there to let them have a look at mudguards. Front wheel came off, on my way home. Not particularly happy with customer service.

On my first visit, I was treated rudely by the red haired gentleman trainee who basically made me feel bad for collecting my order so soon after he had informed me. I am a professional customer service trainer and was absolutely shocked to be made to feel that I was causing him a problem.
On my second visit, I was served by the Manager, Tim, who was excellent. Very attentive and I got the impression that he could not do enough for me.
On my third visit, I was served by a young lady (Atique - I think) who was superb. Friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable. She was a junior member of staff but I received the best service.
A few days later I received a message from the store saying the last part of my order was ready for collection so I called them to ask about it as I already had my entire order. The gentleman who answered the phone was condescending and rude. I opened by telling him why I was calling to which he sarcastically said: "you'll have to be more specific as we have over 250 orders on our system". I was just about to give him the order number and all he had to say was "certainly, how may I help". By the end of the call, he realised he was being rude and tried to laugh it off but it was too late, the damage was done.
Two weeks later my £650 bike is making a horrible squeaking sound with ever right leg push and the pedals on both sides are starting to fall apart.
Also, when I first took my bike home it turns out they sold me mud guards which do not fit and I D-lock which is too big for my bike.
I am not impressed. The store has some good employees but it seems that a couple of gents there are really giving the place a bad name.

My bike was booked in for replacement brake cables and I cant speak highly enough of the Milton Keynes branch from the ease of booking my bike all the way through to collection. On collection of my bike they had found some other faults not only just telling me I need this this and this needs doing but them showing me why I need a new chain and a new head headset and that not to mention the 3 loose spokes they had tightened up for me for free. I have found their customer service second to none and I am only to pleased to have booked my bike back in with them at a time that was suitable for me.

I enquired about a Brompton bike which is a hefty price. The guy made no effort to help me understand the bike. Handed me the bike with the saddle too high and did not seem to want to adjust it. Rude and unhelpful. No thank you.

User

Superb customer service. Went to pick up my bike after ordering online. They set it all up and even fitted the mudguards. Ben made sure it was adjusted to my height and Stephen talked through maintenance, warranty etc. Outstanding.

User

Good range of bikes and bits, very helpful and attentive staff (there to help but not pushy) only thing letting it down in my opinion is the clothing department upstairs which either doesn't have enough choice or sizes on the racks
