Great to this story on Good Morning Britain..
A young Evertonian was given the surprise of a lifetime on Monday when Tim Howard delivered the news that she has been named Good Morning Britain’s ‘Young Hero’.
Ten-year-old Olivia is a massive Blue and names the Everton goalkeeper as one of her heroes - so he was delighted to meet the youngster and give her the special news that she’s a hero in her own right.
... Nominated by her mum Alison, Olivia has received the recognition for the remarkable way she helps her sister and cousin, who both suffer with debilitating illnesses.
As well as helping her parents care for her sister Jessica, the award winner took it upon herself to learn sign language from the internet so that she can communicate with her - and then taught other pupils in her school to use it too.
An enthusiastic member of a Young Carers group, Olivia also co-ordinated a Disability Awareness Day at her school with the help of Everton in the Community, so that other children could get a better understanding of disability and what it means.
