#SAVEEXCHANGE - THIS IS NOT A REHEARSAL.
Earlier today The 1975 announced an Arena Tour for January 2019, six years to the month since they played here at Exchange.
At a time where Bristol itself is in the midst of a heated arena debate, it seems like a good time to remember that Grassroots Music Venues afford people the opportunity to see the arena bands of tomorrow, today!
... The 2017 UK Live Music Census found 'The smaller end of the live music sector is a vital part of the live music ecology' followed by 'But the live music is facing challenges, particularly at the smaller end'. Our #SaveExchange campaign is about securing a vital part of Bristol's music ecology and addressing many of the challenges that we face.

Congratulations to IDLES on reaching number 5 in the Album Charts. We have hosted our fair share of IDLES shows over the years and it’s really refreshing to see a band achieve success through hard work and self belief.
We are especially thrilled for our long time manager / friend / soon to be co-owner (if our #SaveExchange campaign is successful) Adam Devonshire. All of the Exchange team are really proud of your deserved success.

Here is the footage from the #SaveExchange Community Share Launch Q&A. Due to 'technical difficulties' we ended up having to film the Q&A with an iPhone and we lost the first question or two and the intros.
You can download a copy of the Share Offer Document that will answer a lot of questions from www.ethex.org.uk/exchangebristol - We are also working on a separate FAQ for questions we have been asked that are not covered in the SOD and will hopefully post that in the next c...ouple of days.
Big thanks again to Sam Dabb from Le Pub who was our guest for the evening and gave a lot of extra insight on how CBS's operate.
Any other questions? Please email us at info[at]exchangebristol[dot]com or if you would prefer to talk, drop us a PM and we can arrange a meeting or call you. We also have another informal Q&A arranged at Exchange on Tuesday 18th September between 5pm - 9pm (where you can come and chat with directors on a one to one basis) and another more formal audience Q&A on Saturday 6th October from 1pm.

Last seen supporting the mighty ZEKE, The Hip Priests will be returning to Bristol to headline Exchange on September 15th!
Their high energy garage rock n roll and prolific releases have gained them a rightly deserved cult following. Joining them will be their partners in crime Bitch Queens, bringing their well crafted punk rock party anthems to Bristol for the first time.

Tonight!

User

spot on! great venue all round - staff are the business, sound was awesome, bar prices favourable, danced like I haven't for years, just bloody brilliant! will definitely be back!

User

Went in this morning to be greeted by two beaming smiles from the staff, followed up by the best pancakes I've ever eaten in my life!

User

The guys on the door tonight were so amazing as were the team on the bar. One of my favourite venues.

User

Sound is fantastic, atmosphere good, beer prices quite good for a music venue. Small though, which is a good thing but If it's a sellout getting back and forth to the bar is tricky. They do sell cans though so could buy a few at once.

User

My new favourite venue. Came a day late to see the band I had booked tickets for, Radio Moscow, but they let me in anyway and gave me money off my drink because they felt sorry for me . The barman makes his own incredible Bourbon which has a mint flavour. The sound is great. There is nothing to not like. I will be attending lots of gigs here in the future.

User

Magical atmosphere. Twinkling lights, a sense of giddiness, thumping vortices of drums, huge washes of feedback. Great toilet facilities. Can't honestly remember a single night I've spent there but the coffee and vegan brownies are epic.

User

Loved this place, my first time, how a proper music venue you should be, regardless of its size, up and close, great atmosphere, cider, live music, get in!!!!!

User

I love the Exchange ! Great place to see live bands, good beer and friendly staff. Ok, the toilets are to be endured but at least you can hear the music through the floorboards !

User

Great venue - one of the hubs of Bristol night life that showcases a range of acts, as well as championing local artists. Friendly staff that are understanding and laid back - go check it out.

User

Great small venue and the sound is brill better than a lot of bigger venues. Only issue we had was that google maps took us in the wrong direction but if you put in the stag and hounds next door and use that to get you there it's ok.

User

Great place to see up and coming bands. Friendly staff good selection of ales in bottles at sensible prices. What's not to like

User

Bristol is a great place for music, gigs etc....

As for The Exchange, it's a fab small venue, which always has a great vibe about, whatever band your going to see.

User

An awesome wee venue. Ultra-friendly staff, really good beers & whilst they're constrained by being in a heritage building, they're fully signed-up to Attitude is Everything & so doing their best to be as accessible as they can. Great food & coffee in the daytime too!

User

Always have a great night the staff are lovely and it's an amazing venue

User

Great little venue. Good crowd too. No problem getting to the bar. Bands didn't play too loud for the size of venue and the stage is a good height so you can see reasonably well even with a big audience. Well worth a visit.

User

Great little venue, nice staff, clean toilets and reasonably entry price. Loved the bands we saw and hoping to be back for more in the future. Could do with a coat check

User

Good beer & staff very friendly. Sound not as good as other venues but then again, it is small and your rubbing shoulders (literally) with the artist. Nice punters as well. Cheap entry. Would certainly go back.

Parking easy & quick to get to if you're coming in on M32.

User

as small venues go, it's ok apart from the fact that the toilets are up two flights of stairs and there is only one hand rail on the right going up.

as a partially disabled person trying to get out and about this is not ideal,

User

Shocking not sure where my last post went just arrived with my 14 year old son to be denied entry without Id although other 14 year olds in there who werenot asked to show anything guy in the door extremely rude!! I will never step foot in this venue again and will make sure I tell everyone I know about this, I now have an upset teenager who desperately wanted to see his uncle perform!!! Great work guys!!!!
