A break in our regular service...
Two years ago, Nico Baptiste, our head barman in Ibiza, began his mission to remove all plastic straws from Experimental Beach Ibiza as a first step in our mission to make our entire group more eco-friendly. This week, we're proud to announce that after 730 days of trial & research, all 19 bars, restaurants and hotels across Experimental Group in London, Ibiza, New York & Paris will begin using biodegradable straws. Wow! Loved this place. Cocktails were some of the best we had in London and definitely the best service. Zanata (sp?), our bartender was so fun, entertaining and made our night! Definitely recommend this place.
The experimental cocktail club was smaller than expected. Subtly camouflaged, it’s hard to find. But do not be fooled; behind the dark, mysterious black door within chinatowns most luxurious crispy duck pancakes is a dim lit bar full of London’s finest chirpsing their Bumble dates. Once settled on a comfortable sofa-esque stool the barman will kindly inform you of all his favourites and assist you with ordering. Being a mojito lover, he suggested I try ‘La Boma’ - essentially a mojito in a cosmopolitan glass. Some may see this as a cop out on their part but it truly was oh so delicious. Another friend opted for a gin based drink with mango purée and pomegranate whilst another confidently requested a whisky on the rocks. A bold move however she did inform us she’d had a tough day at work. This merely shows how they catered to all our needs. Good vibes all round and even the loos have fine interior. A London go-to. In conclusion, as we scuttled off into the midst of the West End, we deduced that we would return; perhaps when Tinder is paying the bill
Such a great place! Hard to find but that just added to the mystique. Cocktails are unique and the staff wrestler helpful! Oh an the doorman was charming!
One of the coolest bars ever! Really hard to find...exclusive. Had to queue to get in and it was raining...worth it though. Expensive cocktails but great quality.
Great vibe and cocktails right in the heart of Chinatown - well worth a visit but book a table if you want a guaranteed seat. We sat st the bar and watched the mixologists at work. Very impressive and knowledgeable.
Great place for cocktail lovers!I finally had the pleasure to drink my favourite ones made in old style with love and dedication even in busy time-the bar staff is extraordinarily professional and passionate making breathless atmosphere while doing cocktails :) They can be proud to call themselves 'Barman'...Really fascinating and warm ambience..Quite expensive but the art has to be paid! Thanks for the great time-an Amazing Old Fashioned-
Gorgeous, unique cocktails in a fab atmosphere (it's dark and they play 80s tunes - my idea of perfection!!) and managed to get a booking on the day of visiting. A bit pricey, but worth it every once in a while for a delicious creative cocktail.
We arrived an hour late, well past our reservation time, but they still showed us to our table. Pricey but smooth, interesting cocktails, great looking place with appropriately moody lighting, and nice little noms too. ;)
They really know a thing or two about flavour! Amazing mixology, lovely vibe and dark enough to feel truly secretive in the bustle of Chinatown
If you are looking for a late night bar with sophisticated atmosphere, this is the perfect place. Great cocktails.
Very average drinks and then charged the “optional” 12.5% gratuity. You’ve gotta do much better if you’re going to call yourself a cocktail bar.
Totally overrated. Once you figure out where the door is, the adventure is over. Cramped space, poor service, unexciting cocktails. Really not worth the effort. Many, many better places even within walking distance.
Should be a nice establishment but because of the size of the venue they have a cloakroom for people's coats. Cleverly don't charge you for it to avoid being legally responsible. My brand new Barbour jacket went missing & there's nothing I can do about it. Don't drink here unless you like being robbed. Incidentally, my emails are now being ignored regarding the matter. They don't have a phone line either.
I was with my friend and we spend 14 pounds each...we was chatting and the waitress came to us to ask if we want pay together or split...but we didn't ask for the bill...we wait 10 minutes for one cocktail and after 10 minutes she served the second...we ask to remove the service charge and the answer was "sorry but you have to pay because I served napkins and tap water" ...the answer was ridiculous, first of all is optional, second tap water i. London is free...btw first and last experience in this bar
Host just decided to randomly charge entrance. When asked why, he decided that people are not worth respond and asked next people in queue to come in. I was a regular client and I am never coming here again... so cheap...
Great location, however, the bar itself didn't have anything out of the ordinary and was very mediocre in comparison to other bars I've been to in london. Tourist prices and aloof bar staff. Overall not impressed and wont be going back.
Extortionate pricing and extremely rude staff at the door and inside. £12.50 for a tiny martini style cocktail (not even a proper glass) and then on top of that, though I stood at the the bar for my entire visit they had the audacity to charge and extra £1.50 service charge! Cheeky. So £14 for a pathetic excuse for a drink. The staff seem to think they're super busy when they're not. Waitresses kept pushing past me and bashing me despite there being plenty of room. As for the speak easy part, again it's a poor attempt and I've been to way better in London. It's pretty obvious /not well hidden since there's 2 bouncers outside wearing vaguely 1920s garb. But then you enter and everything is back to 2016 nothings really themed, it's tiny inside, no one is dressed up, the music is contemporary... And the drinks, I've already said are a joke! avoid at all costs but if you really insist on seeing how terrible this place is, make a reservation or you'll end up standing the entire time and getting rammed by horrible waitresses. Ridiculous.
Bad vibes with terrible music and be careful they add service charge on overpriced drinks without asking you!!
