Here they are! Last night we welcomed the “Labrador class” 😂 7 labradors, a beagle and a border. They got off to a great start. Followed by a little tribute to our friend Zues who went to sleep last night after 14 lovely years 💔🖤🖤

Our new vision blinds are great if you have a dog that isn’t used to a group class, is maybe nervous or aggressive towards other dogs, or you want to work on your dog focusing on you, off lead, in a class environment. 👍👍⭐️👀👀

Tonight’s classes! Please be aware there is a 10K race going through the village tonight and may delay your journey to class The race starts at mary Elton school on lower strode road and comes all the way down into Kingston. You can still use the road but you’ll be driving behind runners, best to come in Yatton way if possible. See you later on! X is the classes on the map

Otto is on a journey learning to ignore dogs. He’s had issues with recalling away from dogs as they are SO fun! Usually we see dogs develop these issues when they’ve been over socialised as pups, and not done enough work on handler focus. Otto is doing fantastically, this is only his second session and he’s gone from jumping all over dogs and ignoring his mum to recalling away nicely. He will Be training with us for a few more sessions until we have 200% focus in even the most distracting of environments. #gsd #eye2eyedogs #recall #antisocialprogramme #handlerfocus

All dog trainers and behaviourists should train a sport
Training a sport has changed everything about how I feel about dog training. Iv always Trained my dogs, mainly to herd but not until a few years back when I certain two people introduced me to the sport of working trials did I ever really appreciate the work required to Train a competitive dog sport.
... If only all dog trainers could teach pet owners sport foundations to their pet dogs, just the building blocks to a dog sport would make for a superb pet dog.
As a dog trainer, being pushed to train something to a competitive standard is the nudge everyone needs to up their training game. It pushes you, boosts you up, drags you down, makes you learn and most of all focuses you on becoming the best dog trainer you possibly can.
For me it brings me friends, support, competition, and goals.
If you are a trainer/behaviourist and your floating along with the same old stuff, not challenging yourself, pushing yourself, then find a sport you like and train it as best as you possibly can.
My sport is mondioring. It’s a sport of entertainment, difficulty and precision. It is so satisfying to watch, so challenging to train, and for that reason it’s my sport of choice.
Everyday my friends and I talk training plans, ups and downs, we send videos and talk about how club went. It’s such a big part of my life I’d feel lost without it.
And for my dog sport has brought me a lovely, willing, biddable, beautiful natured, determined dog, who just thrives on the exercises the sport and I ask of her.
My students have more purpose, my lessons have more motivation, I’m not teaching the same old text book exercises over and over again and my students are loving it because we are pushing boundaries
So seriously, if your a trainer or behaviourist, find a sport, and train that sport to the best of your ability, go for the most points you can.
You won’t regret it

A Tribute to Pip We have just received the tragic news that beautiful Pip from our current puppy class has been in a catastrophic accident with a tractor. Pip was only 4.5 months old, and was coming on so well. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Pips mum and dad while they deal with this devastating news. A life taken too soon. 😢💔💔

Starting my morning with these two ❤️
