"Just stayed overnight for a wedding reception and was very impressed with the wonderful venue and its superb grounds. Food was exceptional and staff very efficient, attentive and friendly. We all had a wonderful time. Rooms in the annexe were a tad small but had everything we needed and could not fault breakfast either. Would certainly stay here again. Well done!" What a beautiful hotel. I had a lovely night, stayed in The Lodge, which although not grand like the hall, was comfy, cosy and beautifully decorated. I slept like a log in absolute peace and in an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was delightfully served in the Hall, difficult to find fault at all. The Full English was of good quality and the range of fruit, cereals and homemade yoghurts were excellent without being pretentious. I did feel that the bread for the toast was a little bit ordinary. I'd have been really pleased to have been offered a choice of more artisan bread and had it served, freshly toasted to my table rather than using the really rubbish conveyer toaster things you find in foreign resort hotels. Can't really call it a complaint though, just not quite as good as it should be for such a beautiful place. A little extra teaspoon to help serve the lovely jam and marmalade would have been great too. Had to use my finger to get it off the serving spoon. I'm being so picky now but sometimes tiny little details make all the difference.

All in all though, it's impossible not to highly recommend the hotel. The staff are lovely, surroundings beautiful and the food pretty wonderful really. Thank you Eynsham Hall.

User

Thank you for a really nice stay last night. The afternoon tea was great, the beer chilled, the room & bed comfortable, the pool warm and the breakfast was excellent. My wife was thrilled with the card and fudge for her birthday.

I had afternoon tea with my mother in law and my 11 year old daughter this afternoon and it was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and informative on what the food was and kept us happily topped up with drinks the whole time. The food was delicious and very well presented. The atmosphere was just right, inside the beautiful setting. Thank you Eynsham Hall.

I booked a last minute getaway for my husband and myself. I was really impressed when we came down the drive and saw the impressive building. We weren’t let down with the interior and the grounds either! We stayed in the cosy double room in an annexe. The room was small but clean and nicely decorated. The only downside was a noisy boiler which came on intermittently during the night. Breakfast was impressive with a large choice from full English to yogurt and fruit. The room we were seated in was also decorated to a high standard with friendly and efficient staff. All in all, we had a lovely time and will definitely return again.

User

Had an afternoon tea here for 4 which was in the gun room. We couldn't fault it! We had a good selection of sandwiches, mini cakes and scones. I would especially like to thank the kitchen staff for catering for my lactose intolerance, they pretty much mirrored the "normal" afternoon tea which I felt was a nice touch. Although it was quiet it gave a nice personal feel to the experience ☺

User

Had a fabulous time, loved everything about the place. The waiter in the Gun room was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us even carried our drinks round to the back of the hall so we could sit outside. The meals we had in the restaurant were perfect and again the staff were more than helpful. The added bonus of the pool and sauna along with well kept gardens made it even better.

User

Great venue for a wedding. Friendly staff and our room (34) was clean, spacious and had a beautiful view of the garden.

User

Can't fault it room 35. Just out of this world. Staff couldn't do enough for our party. Our friends were in the lodge ( their choice we offered to upgrade them) and the room was very cosy but if you check reviews that's said over and over so no surprise. Reason friends didn't want upgrade because the stairs in main hall were too much for him and there isn't a lift so if you aren't fit be warned. Breakfast great, room and view , wow . My only critism would be you need to advertise your salon even though lady is an I dependant she made this break for us with her treatments and she needs a bigger room and waiting area. Come on management sort this out because if you stay in luxury like this as a one off lifetime treat the pampering should be advertised clearly not stuck on the subheading of leisure and you should enable her to have better facilities. She should have a waiting area with soft drinks options. I would come back as it was just amazing . Top marks to the waiting staff breakfast and bar for being so helpful.

Also partner wishes to say swimming pool.was great xxxx

User

Awesome setting and hotel. There were a few niggles but once raised the staff sorted it. At the price you get this setting for, some people have been way too harsh!

User

We have just returned from a nights stay here. We chose this hotel because we have two small dogs and it is supposed to be a pet friendly hotel..

We didn’t get to stay in the main hall, but was given the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. Just big enough for a double bed and about a foot either side, nowhere to put dog beds without tripping over them so the dogs ended up on the bed with us.

The grounds are lovely but we ended up carrying dog mess around with us as we didn’t come across and dig waste bins at all.

There’s no rooms to take dogs inside the hotel other than the main hall. We were told that the dogs couldn’t go into the restaurant which is fine but no alternative was given so we decided to find a local pub to eat..

Our bed was so uncomfortable that we both ended up with back ache.

On the plus side the breakfast was nice, however we couldn’t wait to leave. We felt very uncomfortable there with the dogs.

User

Lovely place, beautiful surroundings, food was bloody awful and the bar closes at 11pm prompt , they say you can get a drink in the lounge but there is no one around to get it ! It's a real shame as the front of house staff were really friendly but the place is being failed by managers !

User

I stayed in a best western the night before I arrived here for £54, had a great night, arrived here and was greatly disappointed. Double the price, room half the size and in a separate building, and when there is a wedding on the other guests don't stand a chance. The nice chairs are taken up by the wedding party, they even took most the other tables too, so seating outside was at a minimum (and uncomfortable metal chairs). The main bar again taken up by wedding party, so your left with the small bar and not alot else. I get that the wedding party pay for these things, but I really feel you should have ample seating and facilities for your other guests too. This is definitely a hotel that makes its money on the weddings so Joe public don't stand a chance and personally I wouldn't bother.

User

Had a 1nt stay after going to the Countryfile Live Event stopped in one of the Lodge Rooms due taking the dog,the room was clean but the shower and the pressure of the water was disappointing,Breakfast was Very Good but a bit over price for the room.

User

Based on the price charged it fell well short of our expectations, which is a shame as the house and setting is nice. On arrival the cold water stopped working eventually after running it off and on for half an hour I got some sludge before it then exploded soaking me and the bathroom floor. Bedroom disappointing for the price, small with a single seat probably ok for single business one nighter. Toilet/showroom very cramped for a large adult it would help if you are a contortionist. Extremely tight with regular tea and milk in the rooms both our friends and ourselves had to request more at reception who struggled to provide any extra tea bags. Didn’t find any of the staff we met particularly friendly or welcoming. Didn’t partake in evening dining as menu was no more than any gastropub can provide and I would never pay £17 for any burger! Struggling upstairs with luggage is a real issue as no lift is available.

User

Went today for afternoon with my sisters we were told to take a seat in the main waiting area which we was then forgotten about for 20minutes. We finally got seated by bar staff who said he didn’t usually do the afternoon teas so had no idea what he was doing. We were expecting to be sat at a proper table and chairs but that that wasn’t what happened we were sat on on sofas with a very small slim table which ached you’re back after a while and you had to be hunched over. We then go t brought our tea which the food was lovely but the bar staff told us he would be back to explain all the cakes to us which he did not we then did not see him for another 40 minutes after to finally get some more tea for us we couldn’t even get a clean plate to eat our scones on and had to lean them on our lap. We were then made very uncomfortable when it got very busy with business men and women in and out whilst we were sat in the centre eating it got to the point in the end we couldn’t get out quick enough.

User

Very poor afternoon tea , I’m sorry to say. The chairs were very uncomfortable and the room was quite clinical. When I called to make a reservation I was informed that afternoon tea was fully booked but to call back after 10 am the next day which I did and reserved a table without any question. There were merely a handful of guests in the dining room on our visit ! We had to ask for more tea so were given a small teapot of hot water but the milk had run out so we tried to find the waiter to ask for more but it failed to turn up and by this time the hot water had cooled down . We were eventually given a fresh pot of tea ( with tea bags) and milk after looking for the waiter again to ask him ! Sorry but we won’t be returning sadly .

Just had 2 night stay, booked room in main hall, very clean, large bed, shower not powerful and bath water not very warm in room 41. Also think the amount of stairs you have to climb should be made clearer. Stayed with another couple, first day arrived early so ordered sandwiches and drinks to eat outside, two sandwiches and one fries, one pint and one tonic was over £26 so would hope order would be right however, one order went ‘missing’ another was wrong, so the four of us didn’t eat at same time. Breakfast first morning was good, this morning really poor, we were in for breakfast around 8am, no bacon, eggs, glasses, orange juice or granary bread or butter for toast, when asked if more coming out the waitresses response was very abrupt. Only one waitress out of several bringing food from kitchen one plate at a time. Thought we were booking a ‘special luxury’ break with price paid, but feel let down. Also we were charged 3 different amounts for same drinks, one pint Peroni, one slim line tonic cost either £9.80, £9.90 or £9.60!!!!! Expensive anyway but at least be consistent with prices. Wasn’t until we checked receipts we realised. I expected to pay more but at least would hope charged correctly and food orders not be lost and would show up together and be what we wanted. We did mention about the breakfast when checking out and the young man on duty this morning gave us a 15% off voucher for another visit, however the way he reacted think there has been numerous complaints he has dealt with regarding the issues we found. Also if you sit outside on terrace be really careful how you balance drinks on the large table, had enough spring in it to be a trampoline, was not steady at all.

User

Promised afternoon tea for 2 as a prize for a charity function raising money for sobell house when they decided to pull out from sending the prize after it had been promised and raffled off. If this is how you treat people who are supporting a cause like that, i don't think I'd want to experience your 'hospitality'... then again, maybe when there's profit to be made they keep their promises.
