About Faire La Fête

The Children's Party Stylists and Prop Store.

Faire La Fête Description

Faire la Fête is a Cambridge-based event styling company, specialising in upscale children’s parties and baby showers.

I set the business up in 2016 because I believe in the absolute magic of children’s parties and I want to share this with as many others as I can. The party planning process can be daunting and overwhelming and so many mums are already stretched to capacity with life’s challenges…

Are you swamped with work and motherhood, but still want to throw a fabulous party for your child but have no idea where to start and no time to do it…? Faire la Fête is here for you : -)

My little fairy went to bed wearing her tutu and requesting a magic wand. What do you think? Was it worth giving up my Saturday night for..? 💗

4 of my favourite things about being a Mum...
Being a mum can be amazing, exhilarating, joyful and fulfilling. It can also be blummin' exhausting and frustrating. But of course the pros far outweigh the cons and I am jolly thankful to have been blessed with my two tiny perfect humans. So, as we approach Mother's Day, I took some time to reflect on some of the things I love the most about being a mum.
1. Being silly... After a long hard day in the corporate world, I get to go home and be a kid again. Having permission to go crazy with my kiddos is the perfect antidote to a bad day! Our favourite games of the moment are hide-and-seek (their squeals of delight as I announce that I just can't find them is brilliant) and riding 'piggy-back', which involves them riding me as I charge around the house on all-fours as the piggy - and usually ends in a lot of tickles and laughter. Stress - be gone!
2. Endless cuddles and affection The love of a child is bottomless. Hearing them say 'I love you Mummy' makes all my troubles melt away. When I got home from my first day back at work after the Christmas break, I gave Little E a cuddle and told her how much I had missed her that day. Without skipping a beat, for the first time she says 'I missed you too Mummy'. #Love
3, Vicarious joy Living vicariously thorough my kiddos - seeing the triumph on their faces as they discover something new for the first time... Like the time I ran through the house like a crazy woman, punching the air and shouting for joy. Why? After a month of frustrated backwards-only crawling, getting ever-further away from what she had her eyes on, Baby E finally went forwards for the first time!! #Proudmum
4. The possibilities Knowing the power I have in raising these two tiny humans to be the best versions of themselves...the endless possibilities and opportunities they will have as they grow up into the next generation to run this planet. I feel blessed to be playing my role as their guide.
Do you agree? I would love to know what are the things you enjoy the most about being a mum. Leave a comment and let me know!

Kids are never too young to learn these key safety rules. Number 3 I hadn't thought of before...
My Little E is delighted to have just discovered that Mummy and Daddy have real names! And I had the 'don't accept sweets from strangers' conversation with both kids last weekend after an unknown-to-us dad at a softplay centre gave them sweets.
Stay safe x

Hi, I'm Laura - the face behind Faire la Fête. Part-time children’s party stylist and full-time Finance Director and mother of two small people with the ability to leave squashed raisins everywhere possible and put holes in the knees of every pair of trousers they own. Heading too quickly towards 40 and still believing I am 30... I can't wait to plan and style your child's next party :-)
