Youth Club Archive presents One Nation Under a Groove, a 3 month exhibition at Southbank Centre’s for the Festival of Love. The exhibition explores the key role youth movements and subcultures play in forging relationships, friendships, families and communities. Covering the rich history of the tribes, subcultures, sounds and style that span the generations and genres, it includes 120 iconic images from the PYMCA featuring over 50 photographers including Gavin Watson, David Swindells, Janette Beckman, Normski, Phil Knott, Derek Ridgers, Chris Porsz and Richard Braine.
A screening room showing the highly acclaimed Music Nation series by Dazed Digital alongside documentaries from independent film-makers including Will Robson-Scott, Simon Wheatley and Nick Cunard. Guest collections from British Record Shop Archive, Fiona Cartledge from Sign of the Times, Steve Proctor resident DJ at Shoom, Jon Swinstead, Wayne Hemingway and the Hyman Archive.

We are sorry to announce at short notice that due to a family emergency, DJ Theo Parrish has to return to Detroit and will not be able to play at Makers this Saturday. Our thoughts are with him and his family at this time.
In Theo’s absence, we’ve secured Andrew Ashong who will be playing a live set in the middle floor lounge. Andrew’s 2013 single ‘Flowers’ on Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature label won ‘Track of the Year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards last year.
With this late change in mind we have decided to waiver the £10 entrance fee to Makers Evening, and any current ticket holders should contact Billetto to receive a full refund. While its unfortunate that Theo cannot play now, hearing Andrew Ashong live for free will be a special way to round off a day and night of Makers.
