Wish I could get there more often but it's a bit of a commute from Cape Town :( but each year when in the UK we pop in for a meal

The nut roulade and the Apple pud are to die for - and no I am not a veggie but I love that roulade !!

Went for lunch yesterday with my parents! Lovely food but even better service. Such a helpful waiter - couldn't do enough for us! Have never had bad service here! All chef and brewers should take their lead from here! Have been to others recently that haven't met the mark!!

Cracking beer, especially when my Truman's beer is on the bar....

We went as a family group for Morhers Day. Despite a hiccup over the high chair which was resolved, we had a great time. Food was very good and our waiter and waitress were lovely.



Venue relaxing and lots of space around the table. Would definitely go back.

I booked a table for lunch yesterday for twelve people including five grandchildren and we had a great time. The food and drinks were on time no waiting, the lunches proved delicious and the service extremely good and efficient. Considering the restaurant was very busy we experienced no problems at all. We will definitely be back.

Had a nice evening meal very early evening so wasn’t too busy. Service was very quick & efficient. The food was good and was very happy with the starters & main ( shoulder of lamb) however felt the summer sundae could have had more fresh fruit in it- only appeared to have a couple of fresh raspberries - the rest appeared to be similar to fruit salad in its juice from tin.

Having said that we have often eaten here and would visit again

Had a fab time with my family - everyones starters mains and pudding looked and tasted lovely - except my chicken burger- that wasn't great - burger and content was ok but bun bit hard and dry - but staff were great

visited there yesterday first time for 7 of us most meals nice, roast beef not at all good was expecting lovely roast potatoes and nice slices of beef had better at Morrisons !!!! ,Plus disgusted at having to pay over £8 for dashes of lime in soda water and 1 lemonade ,was told we always put 4 dashes in pint glasses ,,,,,,,well inform customers in future please ,,,,plus didn't know soda water was same price as lemonade (we drink it as it hasn't sugered in it don't like coke or Pepsi ,,)

The service and location were both fantastic it was just a pity the the food was not.i ordered the pie and it arrived very quick we are talking within 5 min but it looked like it was cooked 6 hours earlier.such a shame

The food we order is good, but the service at the bar is lacking as there is usually only one member of staff serving.

We regulaly have to wait around 15 - 20 minutes to be served because of this.It seems to me that the Manager should address the situation by allocating more staff to the bar as it is first impressions that matter.

Went for a drink with my daughter while stopping at the premier inn. Pint of Otter £3.93, small Diet Coke £2.85. ����

Service was terrible, ordering as couples one order got taken had to wait a further 10 mins to order ours, so food came are different times, this is after we were ignored to eat in the restaurant, waited 10+ mins for someone to seat us, so ate in the bar. Food was average, and London prices for beer.

The allergy folder was wrong so my son could have been fed dairy it we hadn't queried why it said there was no dairy in mashed potato, we therefore couldn't trust the allergy folder but the chef had poor English so the waiter had to look in the freezer for ingredients on food packets. This is highly dangerous for someone with a serious allergy. Food is not prepared from fresh ingredients, everything is pre-made off sight or frozen. When the bill came the children's starter & main was billed separately instead of the £5.99 deal. When this was queried the waiter went back to till to fix it & then spouted off some rubbish about fixing the problem but still the correct discount had not been applied to the bill & apparently the till would not let them apply the correct discount. It is evident that they are trying to rip families off & hope they don't notice they are being charged more than the set menu price. To top it off just as we paying the bill a rude customer came over to our table demanding we leave as he had the table booked from 2pm, it was 2.05pm! This should have been the waiters job to ask us to leave & if there hadn't been such a debacle trying to find out what ingredients was in their food we would have been finished much sooner. This was not a nice situation for our children to witness as the customer was very intimidating.

Shocking place!! 3 attempts at making a sandwich that they charge £8.99 and they still can't do it! No apology when I've complained, just told no manager til after 6. Waitress Polya/Polkya would do herself a massive favour by learning some manners!!

My burger was ok but the chips were cold. The staff were very nice and took them away. So I had to eat half my burger on its own. They could of left the cold ones, but instead of making me new ones they re-fried the old ones so they came back as inedible hot crispy oil sticks. Very disappointed.

I tried to ordered two items and told neither were available so asked was there anything not available they told me no so I tried to order a further two options and was told they weren't available either! Finally ordered and it was put on the wrong table and one course was forgotten. We were made to pay for that again but when it was delivered a kind waitress heard what had happened and refunded one of the courses. When we ordered the desert we were told the crumble of the day was apple and pear but when arrived it was peach and raspberry. The two people eating that have severe fruit allergies so it could have been a disaster had we not realised before eating. We won't be going back unfortunately.

Have been here to eat four times now and the last two times the food was not good. Both were roast dinners with undercooked sausages and roast potatoes. Complained about the anaemic looking potatoes and to be fair the manager did come over to apologise and offered us a free desert. However, won't be eating here again.

Have been going to this restaurant for years, Family Birthdays, Christmas Do's and those just can't be bothered to cook days. Never had a problem until today !! Fitted us in last minute which was good, starters arrived before the drinks !! they were ok but the main courses, now where do I start. The Belly Pork, most of the dish was cold, Ordered the Turkey roast got chicken, Ordered the trio of roast, it was mentioned they were running out things but what turned up was a mess, a fatty lump of ham hock, two tiny slices of beef and Yorkshire pudding big enough to try & hide it all. We sent that back and my husband didn't eat. Non of enjoyed our meals then the atmosphere was ruined. Would you expect a manager at this stage ? I certainly would but no apparently she's popped out !! Elijah tried his best and was full of apologies, we only paid for the drinks we'd had and we were not charged for the food, which we accepted but sorry POOR show to the New Manager I'm afraid. Would never have happened under James's reign.
