Nice place. Nice owners. Great breakfast. Only slightly bad thing I could say is the sheets and towels smelled of scented detergent/softener which might bother someone if they are sensitive. Also more as a FYI they have dogs... No problem for us but might be for some. They were well behaved though.

Nice semi-circle location just outside of Hexham (>10 min), that's easy to find. Decent sized and equipped rooms. Communal area and a very tasty breakfast. Friendly and efficient host. Wifi. Great property for visiting the great place.

We visited this b&b from, 30th December to the 1st January to celebrate my boyfriends birthday as well as our anniversary. I had called ahead in November to ask if some balloons and banners could be put up as a surprise for my boyfriend and it was absolutely no bother to Kathryn who more than happy to do this for me.

When we arrived Paul greeted us, explained everything we needed to know and showed us to our room. We had chosen the double at the end which had the 4 piece en suite and the bathroom overlooking the alpaca field. The room was lovely and warm, we loved the decor and found the room overall very comfortable.

Breakfast was lovely, we couldn't get enough of the homemade bread, absolutely delicious. Between us we had a mix of things from then menu but I loved the full Northumberland. I asked if I could swap some of the things I didn't like (mushrooms and tomatoes) for potatoe rostis instead (which I love) and again this was no bother for Paul who was more than accommodating at breakfast. We definitely didn't go without. A big hand to Paul who on the 2nd day did breakfast for 6 single handedly and still produced a quality breakfast and service.

We asked Paul if we could go and see the alpacas (which we were really excited about) and again this was no bother. He took us into the paddock after breakfast and told us all about the alpacas in the paddock. They were very friendly and were not phased by strangers being there. We loved going into the bathroom and seeing if the alpacas were in view. They are such funny animals.

Paul has an abundance of knowledge of the local area if you need any recommendations of what to do or where to visit.

Overall a very lovely, comfortable and accommodating stay. We definitely weren't ready to leave! Thanks for such a lovely stay
