Wedding dress shopping is probably one of the most important and exciting things to do in your lifetime.. been looking around for months for my sisters dress but as soon as we stepped into fairytale brides the whole experience was amazing and beautiful thank you Gemma for making my sister feel so amazing and also us feel a real part of the experience it was truly special !! To top it all off she finally found thee perfect dress couldn’t thank use enough!!!

Special thanks to Gemma for helping guide me through the dress choosing & fitting process. Really glad she pulled that one last dress out of the back which turned out to be the perfect length (v.rare when you’re 5’2”!) & my dream gown! As it was a sample, there were some things that needed attention, some crystals on the buttons were replaced, but all of this was fixed. I felt gorgeous on the day & had some really lovely comments about my dress x

I got married on 23 Sept 2017 but i bought my dress over a year in advance. Carol was an absolute star and looked after me from the second I walked through the door until the moment I collected my dress for my wedding and took it home.

I purchased my dress at the National Wedding Show in 2016, well over 2 years before my big day. With such a long wait, I started to get nervous however Carol and her wonderful team settled my nerves and invited me back over last year for another try on. I live 2 hours away from Manchester but all I can say is that the service I’ve had from start to finish was 5* and it was definitely worth the drive. Carol measured me so accurately I didn’t need one single alteration and today I’ve come away as a very happy bride! My day isn’t until 4th August but I cannot wait to walk down the isle in my beautiful dress. Thank you so much! X

They stock a great selection of stunning dresses with a varied price range so you have lots of choice



Carol and the team are professional and looked after me very well.



I would defiantly recommend visiting there to look for your dream dress, and it has the added bonus of having ‘Slattery’s’ chocolate and wedding cake shop/Resturant within walking distance so you can celebrate finding ‘the one’ with some yummy chocolate (note to brides: go easy on the chocolate �)



The service Carol and her team offered was spot on from start to finish, my alterations look great and I have my dress ready for the big day.

They planned and arranged my alteration appointments in plenty of time and I had several fittings to ensure everything we perfect- and it was... first time!

Carol and the girls here are just absolutely amazing!!!! This was the last shop I visited when shopping for my perfect dress.. I already had a feeling before going In that my dress was here and when carol made me try it on when I'd said I wasn't sure about it I was so glad she did because it was perfect!! The service received was impeccable from start to finish and I'm so so happy that my dress shopping was so stress free. Everyone loved my dress, the shop is full of stunning designers I would 1000% highly recommend this to any bride and I will definitely pass on my feelings to any future brides I come across! Carol and her staff at Fairytale brides are amazing and saved the day when it came to my wedding dress experience!! After finding out the original shop I bought my dress from had gone into liquidation (Brides worst nightmare!) The dress designer company and Carol took control of the whole thing and organised for my dress to be collected and fitted from her shop. A horrible and stressful experience was turned around by Carols kind, professional and caring service. My dress fit me perfectly and was ready in time despite all the hold ups.

After going to 4 bridal shops and trying on about 30 dresses, I’ve finally found my dream dress at Fairytale Brides! Thanks so much Gemma for helping me find my perfect dress! I love it! I was worried I was never going to find ‘the one’ but as soon as I tried it on I knew I didn’t want to try on any more! Carol and Gemma were both so helpful and let me take my time. Gemma really understood what kind of dress I wanted and helped me with making sure everything was perfect and exactly how I wanted it! I’m so excited for my dress to arrive and can’t wait for my first fitting! Thanks so much for all your help, I love my dress!

After dreaming about getting my wedding dress from here since being 8years old I’ve finally got my amazing one off dress I’m in love �� thank you so much made me feel so at ease and happy thank you so so much �

Absolutely amazing! Went to find my dress yesterday, wonderful selection of dresses and I didn’t feel any pressure to rush. Gemma was lovely, made me feel really comfortable! Couldn’t have had a better experience.

If I could rate a zero I would ! Had the worst experience here when I bought my wedding dress I would never recommend them to anyone ... My mum bought my dress for me when a new designer was sampling their new collection ... I tried a size 8 an fell in love with the dress ...i was told to order a size 10 as they felt I needed it for my bust and they the rest could be altered accordingly ... given they are the experts I took there advise an order the 10 with a view to having it altered when it arrived ... when the dress arrived it was huge but kept the faith that they knew best an paid circa £300 for the first set of alterations ... when it can to the second fitting I could have cried the beautiful dress I had originally tried at the sample sale was hanging off me like a sack of spuds an bared no resemblance to the perfect fit I had tried an looked a million miles apart from the image in the brochure ... I was then told I wasn’t a model so I shouldn’t expect it to fit like it does in the magazine- my jaw nearly dropped I couldn’t believe how rude and disgusting the customer service was especially surrounding one of the most important days of my life... I then went for a further fitting an the dress was completely butchered it was heartbreaking - they said leave it with them an they would rectify it - this was now weeks before my big day an I had lost all trust in them ... I had to go elsewhere an buy another dress on my credit card which luckily was a size 8 an needed minimal corrections.... I later asked my brother in law to pick up my butchered monstrosity the day before my wedding from fairytale as I had paid around £1500 for it ... they then tried to refuse him collection ... they dress is still in the bag unworn an unfit for purpose... all in all I would be very weary in putting such a special day in the hands of this retail outlet given the experience an abysmal customer service I entailed.

I have had a horrific experience at Fairytale brides! The lady who sold me my dress was lovely, but from the moment I paid for my dress the customer service stopped there.



When I went for my first fitting my dress was pinned for length and width by the lady who owns the shop (not the seamstress), the appointment was rushed but I thought it may just be because she knew what she was doing. I was, however, made to pay for my alterations and hoop upfront before I left, which was a lot more than the sales assistant had quoted when I originally bought the dress.



I came back two weeks later as per their specified appointment to pick up my dress, but not all of the alterations had been done!



They only offer fitting appointments Monday-Friday 9-5, with absolutely no flexibility or consideration for the lengthy journey I had to make from Preston or the additional time off work I would have to request last minute.



When I put my dress on it was too small, making it really uncomfortable and I struggled to breath - the lady told me that I wasn’t meant to be comfortable on my wedding day and that it would just make me sit and stand up right! I insisted it was just too uncomfortable and reluctantly she agreed to let it out a little. I was also worried as the top of my dress looked like it was pulling in a weird way and wasn’t sitting right, but I was told it was because I had wonky shoulders! Great confidence boost before my wedding!



When I came back later that week to pick up my dress the lady who owned the shop could not get me out of the door quick enough, I wasn’t really allowed to check if everything was ok. It was too big in the bust but I was just told to get some bra cups to fill them out.



When I got home I felt so deflated. I tried my dress on again and just felt so unhappy.



In the end I’ve had to take it to a second seamstress who has had to completely re-do all of the alterations as she said that the work done was shoddy, incomplete and that the way I was treated is appalling. You should never pay for alterations up front, only pay once you’re happy was her motto. She wants happy brides.



My new Seamstresss had to shorten my dress a little more, adjust the top to fit my petite frame properly rather than padding out with fake bra cups, added tie up loops for the evening as Fairytale Brides had neglected to complete/add these as requested, re-adjust the arms and neckline so that they would sit correctly and not rub me during the day and also re-line the edging.



I’m getting married on Friday and this has been an additional stress, cost and upset that I really didn’t need.



Fairytale Brides made me fall out of love with my dress. I would seriously recommend you shop elsewhere.
