Fancy Pants Dancewear Description
In August 2011 I made a tutu out of my old wedding dress, it was a success, and it fit! In October 2011, I was asked by another parent to make her daughter a tutu . . . another success and it looked stunning on the stage : D Another parent request in March 2012, this time for an old fashioned swimsuit for a baby modern solo, around this time, another parent (Lisa) made a tutu - it was beautiful!
Turns out Lisa has a wealth of sewing knowledge, her experience includes men's wardrobe at Birmingham Royal Ballet, and children's TV programmes (back in the day), to name a few.
In October 2012 we decided to get our heads together and start Fancy Pants Dancewear . . . the rest as they say, is history!
We've done a few freebies along to way to spread the word and worked super hard over the last (almost) 2 years to get where we are now. As well as providing many costumes to Dance Network for shows and festivals (troupes, solos, duets, and trios), we've also provided costumes for Chellaston Academy to dance at The Royal Albert Hall, have links with a lovely dancewear shop in Lichfield, we make and do alterations on prom dresses, bridal dresses, dancewear - we've even made overalls for kitchen staff at a local primary school! ! We make personalised velour dance /gym shorts and have made gym leotards too, we've even designed and made our own pointe shoe bags : D
We take pride in everything we make (yes, even the kitchen overalls), and LOVE to see our dance costumes on the stage! We use good quality fabrics, are competitively priced and provide a made to measure personal service. We've had excellent feedback AND repeat custom, and for this we'd like to THANK YOU : D we're very much looking forward to more of the same and to fab future with customers old and new! ! xx
