This week, we've had Nicole in on work experience as she's interested in getting into the special FX line of work. So I've been showing both her and Trystan how to work with latex and make fake scars etc. But I also thought it would be fun for them to make a full horror mask. To keep it easy I bought a basic rubber face mask, rather than doing a face cast (which is both laborious and uncomfortable) for them to build it on. Then they decided between them what they wanted t...o and went for 'Leatherface' from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. As well as teaching them how to create the scars, I showed them how to attach the hair to it as well. They did planning sketches,documented it throughout and took photos of each stage. You can see the before and after here. Then the progressive photos as it builds. And this is what they have created!! I'm so proud of them!! It's incredible!! They've worked so well together and the detail they've put into this is just amazing.

We're being very industrious here at Fancy Pants Emporium this week. We have Nicole here on some work experience, so both her and our son Trystan are learning how to making prosthetic scars and face masks etc with latex. And tomorrow we'll be casting some quirky resin jewellery pieces.
