Fans Of Edamame Oxford Description

Opened in 1998, Edamame is a small, intimate eatery that serves home cooked style food (and sushi) to a large and loyal following of residents, local and international students and to Oxford's many visitors. We pride ourselves on the authenticity of our food, and invite you to come by to sample from a wide selection of dishes available on our three menus - lunch, sushi and dinner. These menus follow a timetable of rotation so that the ingredients and their preparation are as fresh as possible. For the third Thursday running we are preparing our popular mackerel dish "saba no misoni" for today's lunch special.
It tastes great and is a wonderful source of healthy fish oils. Try some today - you will not be disappointed 😋

One of our sushi specials this evening is "Hamachi nigiri", also known as Japanese Yellowtail. These are slices of a mildly flavoured white fish often served in Japan as sushi and sashimi. It has a delicious, subtle and slightly buttery taste - we hope that you will come to try some !

Back by popular demand we will again be serving our delicious and nutritious "saba no misoni" as today's lunch special ! Last week we sold out of them rather early, so we have prepared extra this week to hopefully avoid any disappointment. Please come to try some :)

User

We'll be serving our popular "salmon hotpot" as today's lunch special. Nourishing and satisfying it will fire you up for the rest of the day ! We hope to see you here :)

We are very happy and humbled to announce that the Japanese government has once more endorsed Edamame as Oxford's only authentic Japanese food establishment ! We will continue to work hard to maintain this prized recognition, and we thank you, our valued guests, for your sustained support of our tiny restaurant 🙏🙏🙏

Edamame is currently preparing for its reopening (for lunch) on Wednesday Jan 8th.
We hope you have enjoyed a good winter break !!
We look forward to burning off these winter chills with you and getting Edamame buzzing again. The start of University term is still two weeks away, so now is a good time to visit if you prefer a less busy atmosphere.
... Looking forward to seeing you here soon so that we can serve you our Japanese home-cooking once more :)

It is always such a pleasure to take my wonderful staff out for our annual Christmas dinner ! Huge thanks to them for their relentless dedication and hard work, and our warmest thanks to you all for keeping Edamame buzzing brightly this year.
We all wish you a very Happy Christmas, and we look forward to serving you again when we open on January 8th next year :)
PS. we recommend that you try Moya Restaurant for some delicious and beautifully presented Slovakian home-cooking !

As an attempt to cheer us all up on Election Day we are serving our "tonkotsu ramen" as Thursday's lunch special :) We will prepare 18 portions of it, so we recommend that you visit us early if you would like to try one !
We hope to see many of you here during this our final week of 2019 before we close for our end of year Christmas & New Year break.

Wasn't sure whether I should post this on Edamame's Facebook page, but the often confused pronounciation of "L" and "R" made it seem quite appropriate 😹

User

Absolutely delighted to read this commendation in today's Oxford Times and Oxford Mail ! Whilst remaining deeply grateful to our many loyal guests I would like to emphasise and acknowledge the dedication and positive energy of my wonderful staff without whose hard work Edamame would struggle to exist. A huge 'thank you' to you all 🙏
