Far Acre Farm, Vineyard And Campsite

After our recent stay at Alex & Jennys farm I would like to give them a 5 star review.
What lovely people, nothing was to much trouble, so helpful & kind.
I loved the fresh farm eggs and the home grown wine.
My children have not stopped asking when can we can go back.
All this and the rates were more than reasonable, I have paid a lot more for a smaller pitch without any facilities.
Thank you to both of you, we all look forward to returning soon.
Keep a few bottles of wine reserved for me.

We had a last minute weekend stay at Far Acre, 4 adults and 4 children, just wanting a very quiet weekend camp together!

Jennie was helpful from the start, literally as we arrived the rain came down, but she happily showed us to our pitch. Thankfully the rain didn't last long, we got set up, two tents plus an event shelter and relaxed!

It's not a big site, and we were really pleased to see that Jennie & Alex restrict numbers there, rather than cramming in as many people as possible! Jennie came round later in the evening to make sure we were OK and again in the morning with eggs... which were the best I've tasted!

The site facilities are limited to a small cabin with male and female toilets, plus a shower in each. A small washing up area was next to the block, with recycling and rubbish disposal, plus a chemical toilet emptying point.

Some of the pitches have electrical hookup - not ours for the weekend though.

On the Saturday evening Jennie came round with fire-wood for us (cheap compared to a lot of other camp sites we have been to), asked us how our stay was, and told us she wouldn't be around in the morning as she was out at a farmers market. In the morning we did have a visit from her daughter asking if everything as OK, a really nice touch!

All in all it was just what we were looking for, and will most definitely be back!

Beautiful surroundings, wonderful hosts, great wine, fresh eggs and a huge amount to explore in the surrounding area. Couldn't recommend this site more. Love it xx

What a fantastic time we had at Far Acre, the setting is beautiful and the owner was an extremely friendly, helpful person and nothing was ever an issue from asking for more wood and enjoying the lovely eggs from the farm. We would highly recommend this campsite to friends and family with or without children. The site is quite and washroom facilities were always kept clean to a high standard. The bonus is the wine from the vineyard is amazing and we got through several bottles celebrating a 40th birthday.
Can't wait to return, thank you for a great weekend.

A total disappointment. Though I'd declared my dimensions when booking and fitted perfectly onto the pitch, the agreed price was suddenly steeply increased because I was judged bigger than expected!
In 9 years both in the UK and abroad with my motorhome, I haven't once encountered an attempt to bump up a pitch price in this way and I have always left a site on good terms. A pitch is a pitch, full stop - its price does not fluctuate with the wind or on the mere whim of a site owner.
£18 per night for an off-season pitch made of rough clinker on a piece of farmland was arbitrarily increased to £25 !
If I didn't like it, I was rudely invited to leave the next morning.
I did so - and immediately found a far nicer, cheaper, better equipped and tended site not a stone's throw away - and have since found a couple more. Not only am I now paying less in high season (£20) than this place demanded in low season - the people are far more pleasant too.
Would not recommend this place at all.
