Far Peak Campsite

About Far Peak Campsite

25 acre campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Far Peak Campsite Description

Camping with us in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds is a wonderful experience. We have everything from simple grass pitches and electric hook-ups to Shepherds Huts, all on 25 acres of woodland and parkland.

We encourage individuals, couples, groups and families to stay. We have a small cafe within the Climbing Centre, a Low Ropes course and plenty space to play ball and for children to explore. There is a pub within walking distance across the fields and plenty more further afield for those who like a longer walk or short drive. All the amenities of the Cotswold village of Northleach are 1 mile from the site and the popular towns of Bourton-On-The-Water and Cirencester is a 10 minute drive in either direction.

Far Peak is in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds area of outstanding natural beauty. There are miles of wonderful walks to be enjoyed in the area and lots of villages and (hilly) lanes to be discovered by walkers and cyclists or for the less energetic by car.

That's it for 2018 folks. We've had some wonderful weather and some lovely guests to make this an amazing year in the Cotswolds. The Campsite will be closed until March 2019 - all enquires and bookings can be made through our NEW look website. Many thanks again.

A bit of a wander in the autumn sunshine to take a few pics for our new website. A very lovely place to be 😊

User

User

The rural version of a drive-thru! Thanks The Hayloft Cafe for breakfast on the run!!

User

User

A gorgeous bank holiday weekend ☀️. Great to see everyone enjoying the #cotswolds in its full glory.

User

What a wonderful, relaxed setting to camp in. The staff were brilliant! We were a group of four families, 8 adults, 8 children under 12. Loved being able to have a proper fire and the climbing centre, especially the low ropes was fantastic!!! Will definitely return!!!

User

The campsite is a good place for Sea Cadets because it has a climbing wall, and fields for camping and walks near by.

User

Really friendly staff, clean and plenty of space. Plenty to keep the kids occupied and the most amazing bacon and egg baps...it's important.

User

Our 3rd year camping over the bank holiday weekend. As usual the facilities were great and the staff on site very helpful. The climbing centre, cafe, hayloft bar and wood fired pizza all added to the weekends fun. Located in the Cotswolds there is always something to do constrain or shine.

User

Just returned from a short two night break. This is our fourth year at far peak and it just keeps getting better and better. Everything is clean and hygienic. The climbing centre is perfect for the children and the hayloft serves the best bacon rolls the world has ever tasted. Trying to book for the bank holiday but sadly fully booked !!!!

User

Just on the way home from a twice extended family holiday. The staff are amazingly friendly and always made sure they checked I was ok when they knew my husband was away. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants a chilling time..as well as the fun of the connected climbing centre and Hayloft cafe and deli.

User

Just back from a great 2 night stay here. John the warden was friendly, informative and really helpful. The facilities in terms of washing and toilets are brilliant. They are clean, brilliant showers and everything works.

Lots of available pitches and ample access to water and electric hook up.

Yes it is a noisy site in terms of the constant Road noise but then it's the Fosse Way and so it's never going to be quiet.

That said if you want a quiet pitch book one in the Glade, it's much quieter in there.

The guys (Tom and Scott) from Far Peak Climbing were brilliant. We had a great survival and den build session with Scott and Tom was incredibly patient on the tree climbing session. As for the climbing wall and Tower, speaking as a climber it was superb. Tons for total beginners and serious rock jocks alike. The auto belay is a great touch as well.

So good in fact we've already booked to go back.

User

Home from a fantastic family camping weekend - firepits, climbing, archery, orienteering.....along with clean facilities and lots of space for the kids to play! The children are already asking when we can go back......

User

Had a great two night break at this campsite, very clean, great food at the cafe and just the most fantastic climbing centre, the children climbed every day and we loved instructor Tom, fantastic with the children. Loads of space, dog friendly and the whole site had a great feel about it. We will be back soon 😊

User

Had a fantastic one night stay with my 3 year old son. Friendly, relaxed feel, great facilities and lots to do for kids 3 years and up. Thanks Far Peak!

User

Great site with good facilities. We went with 11 other families with children ranging from 1-9. Excellent playground and climbing activities to keep them occupied. Hope to return soon.

User

Great campsite friendly and helpful staff. Superb for families with children, the climbing centre was great for our son’s adventouros nature.

Would recommend highly.

User

Fabulous bank holiday weekend away, brilliant for the kids to run around and a really nice cafe :-)

User

Excellent staff (Rob) gave my grandchildren a wonderful climbing experience. Value for money. We had a delicious lunch afterwards and then the children played in the activities play area.

User

Came back yesterday from a brilliant camping trip! Very impressed with the whole sit! Facilities were great! Didn't realise when I booked but was told when we checked it that the price includes a low rope course and zip wire which one of my daughters loved! She was also able to use the climb centre for £5 for the day which again she loved! Lovely campsite in a lovely location! Staff were brilliant! We rented a firepit which came with wood! Excellent time had by all hopefully will be back!

User

Brilliant. We are only newbie campers but this place is just perfect. Totally uncommercial, peaceful, lots of space and climbing and low ropes to entertain kids. Owner could not have been more helpful.

User

Very clean facilities. Showers especially good with big cubicles and very hot constant water. Staff very helpful and polite..You can hire a firepit and buy logs. We felt the logs were a bit expensive at £8 a bag.

Only one thing spoilt it for us was the main road right next to our tent which was busy and very noisy. We didn't know it was there because of the bushes but by then we had pitched up and settled down.

Would definitley go again but will pitch the far side of the field next time.

User

Just returned from a 2 night stay were very lucky with weather. We stayed in the glade which had no cars. 5 year old loved the low ropes course and the climbing. The low ropes course was included in the pitch price. The campsite was very well maintained. Clean showers and facilities. There were paths mowed amongst the long grass especially for little ones to explore aswell as paths through woods adjoining the glade with a field behind - stunning countryside. All the surrounding countryside was absolutely stunning - campsite is perfect position to explore. Coffee at café onsite which apparently just opened last weekend is fabulous even grind own beans - highly recommend. Overall for a campsite I really recommend. The only thing I would say is that you can hear the road, however, we were situated furthest from this and all the positives outway this - I didn't feel it affected our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

User

Have been twice now - love the rustic nature of it. Just a shame some people didn't respect our 'space' and others were very loud after midnight. Wardens were lovely and really helpful. Loads of hot water and facilities although basic are clean. Hope to be back again soon Thank you :)
