We stopped in here today after stumbling upon the place whilst on a jaunt to the beach. The food was absolutely amazing - highly recommend the wild mushroom risotto (yummy and I'm very fussy) and the steaks were amazing too! Great portion sizes too and lovely chatty locals :-) highly recommended

Visited for the first time in over 10 years and was very surprised! Excellent food, very helpful and lovely staff. Ended up here after bad service from The Cornish but will definitely be back and it will be our first choice next time!

User

The food and staff, could not do enough to make our evening more enjoyable,

User

Stopped in the hotel for 2 night and will definitely be stopping again, the owner has so much energy and speaks to everyone to make them feel at home,

Food is amazing, worth the wait when they’re busy

Just returned home from a 2 night stay at farmers arms. We were made so welcome by dan the landlord and also nick behind the bar. Dan gave us lots of local i formation and suggestion for a coastal walk and was very kind to even offer to drop us at the beach so we could leave our car at the pub. Food was lovely and like being at a home from home pub. Thanks guys

I've been coming to St Merryn since I was a child and always opted for the carvery here but last night was amazing everything was spot on. Love how the pub is both child and dog friendly the food was amazingly good, just what we needed before watching the carnival and the people it attracts are lovely too

User

Friendly staff gave us a real Cornish welcome. Stayed overnight in a lovely room - fluffy towels! Lovely meal in the restaurant, again with great friendly service (thanks Rob). Great selection of local St Austell beers & to top it off a superb breakfast. Thanks all.

Found this pub after reviewing where we could go with our golden retriever....we wasn't disappointed.

Made to feel very welcome and buddy bear even more so....He thoroughly enjoyed his carvery for tea

Thank you to the staff xx

User

Food was lovely, large portions, plenty of choice.

We had fish pie, steak and ale pie (which was crammed full of lovely steak), chicken burger - which was huge! Fish and chips and a carvery with crackling and Yorkshire puddings to die for!

A hidden gem

User

A real locals pub, great food including a carvery, large portions! We were made to feel most welcome and the manager even arranged for one of his team to give us a lift home to Padstow as we couldn’t get a taxi after the football! Fantastic, will definitely come back next year. Thank you

User

Lovely Sunday lunch. Would have given 5 stars but knives did not cut the roast beef !

User

Hate to say this went for lunch today

Hubby had fish and chips .The batter was horrible .not crisp at all .We waited quite a while. Told the waiter apologised it came back from the kitchen it was new oil. All I can say is the chef must have known it didnt look right. More like a Tempora batter .Have had many meals there. And have recommended the farmers arms .

Sorry won't be back
