New Years Eve 2018

We were on holiday but shared a meal with our 'local family' end of July. Even though there was a lot of us, we all got our food together and enjoyed it. The drinking bit was good too LOL. Thanks to all concerned we had a good time

We are staying in the village for the week on holiday with our 5 month old. We popped down for Curry Night on Wednesday after it was recommended in the visitors book.

It was DELICIOUS!!! A curry with a slow build up of spice, served with a HUGE popadom, naan bread and rice (we had half and half and had it with some chips too!). Also got three very tasty chutneys to munch through! Which is AMAZING for the grand price of £7.95!!

Bar staff were lovely, very friendly and brought our drinks over when we were eating so it wouldn’t get cold (beer was lush!) Chef came out to collect our plates and check everything was ok which was lovely.

It was very quiet in there when we got there but then there was a steady stream of people once we were eating. Clean and tidy, feels like a ‘proper pub’.

Well worth a visit and would happily visit again and recommend to anyone staying near by!!!

Thank you for a lovely evening! Ben, Victoria and Caleb xx

This was a welcome sanctuary at the end of an enjoyable stay in Cornwall. Lovely salt of the Earth people who you could easily write in to an episode of Little house on the prairie. Kind, good natured and wanting to appease staff with a Landlady to be proud of. Although I'm not one to approve of branded image pubs, this lovely village hide away is something special. Not only did I receive a welcoming smile each evening, I also enjoyed a home from home cooked grub that tasted mighty fine. Although the limited menu was barely adequate in choice, I soon discovered Curry and a pint night. 'Make it hot enough to bring a tear to my eye please'...and you know what, they did... joy :) - $7.95 with a popadum and nan and some chutney ring burn sauce. I liked it so much I had another one the next night! The seated restaurant area was stylish and private for those wanting romance. The bar was jolly and friendly - you will mostly find a chap wearing Hi-Vis everything, and of few teeth willing to engage a stranger in to a friendly chat. I felt at home there, a sign of a good pub. Treat yourself to a kindness and give this place a visit, take your friends, take your Mum, hell drag strangers and vagabonds off the street as this place is gold. Da iawn from Wales and thank you for your hospitality, you made my visit comfortable and I thank you.

Holidaying in Watergate Bay and being huge cricket fans we were looking for a pub with Sky that would be showing the England match. The Farmer's Arms put it on for us and also served some of the best pub food I've had. It was so good we went back again on Saturday evening to watch the Warwickshire game and even though the pub was a lot busier it wasn't any trouble putting it on for us. If you're ever in the Newquay area I can't recommend this place highly enough for great food, a friendly atmosphere and somewhere to watch Sky Sports.

User

Had a delicious mother's day lunch today, the food arrived quickly and piping hot and good sized portions. The staff were polite and friendly. Thank you all for a great experience

User

EXCELLENT PUB I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT 👍.

This pub was a excellent find it's dog friendly the meal that we had was out of this world as a rule I don't normally order lasagne in a pub as most of the time it's killed in the microwave, not at this pub it's was amazing homemade came with a salad ( huge portion) the kids had burgers with half a plate of chips and my husband had the curry.

This pub is an old style pub I have now learnt to never judge a book by its cover the staff we lovely very friendly and helpful on my next visit to Cornwall I will definitely be going back.

Lovely couple of pints of Doombar while we waited for our curry from Zaman's. Pub found by us grockles as nearest and nicest looking from Google maps. Wish we had somewhere like that near us in Hampshire.

I have eaten here a number of times, and enjoyed the food so booked for our belated family Christmas meal today. Today however the food was much below the standard expected, most of the main course inedible - sour overcooked sprouts, parsnips raw in the middle, carrots unpeeled and unappealing, quantity outweighing quality. My daughter voiced her concerns to the chef, however he made no apology, blamed us for ordering late (we had preordered, but sat down late due to slow bar service), said nobody else had complained that day, he had been extremely busy, and implied the meal was cheap so what else should we expect.......
