Went today and ordered a chicken and bacon salad when it arrived it looks amazing .. untill I stuck a bit of bacon in my mouth ..yuck .. "smoked" bacon .. after checking the menu it didn't say smoked so the lovely lady serving us went and got me some unsmoked bacon and said she had mentioned it to a manager .. anyway meal was fabulous staff were polite and willing to help out .. thanks

User

Went for lunch today with my Mum and my sister, who is visiting from Scotland, and we all decided to try the carvery. I am SO happy we did! The range of choice is excellent, everything was piping hot and absolutely delicious (especially the roast parsnips - oh, my goodness, they are heavenly!), and the price is very reasonable too. The staff were all helpful and friendly, and on a hot, summer day, the air conditioning was very welcome! Cannot find even a single fault. Will definitely return again and again!

User

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch today. My hubby had a carvery and i had crispy chicken medly with peppercorn sauce delicious. A lovely polite young friendly lady called Lauren served us and nothing was a bother. Enjoyed our drink in the sun afterwards.

User

Just had our tea for the first time here tonight with my wife and daughter lovely food and nice staff all round very happy will be back again one day.

User

I'm currently visiting family in the area and today chose to have the carvery. Oh my word!!!! It was absolutely delicious. Proper home cooked food and the parsnips were to die for!!!. I'm allergic to red meat and the lovely lad that was cutting the meat had no problem at all in getting a different knife to cut the turkey for me. He smiled and completely understood the situation.

I will definately be back every time I visit the area... this will be insisted upon.

User

Bottom line... I DO NOT like carveries as I always feel as if I am "Oliver" - waiting in line for my gruel!

HOWEVER - the carvery here looked good as people returning to their tables showed. Willow Farm has a variety of sizes/prices so I decided to try out the small option.

We were offered turkey, beef or gammon so I asked if I could have a beef/turkey lunch. "Not a problem! "...... and the choice of beautifully cooked veg was amazing. .. mash, new potatoes, roasters, sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, carrots, mixed veg bake, fabulous roast parsnips. Add to that, stuffing (not my favourite but that's not important) and yorkshires (which the server ensured were crisp. .. as I asked ). 2 types of gravy, appropriate condiment sauces. .....

Everything was lovely AND hot. .. and just like home made. We are fussy but this carvery was extremely good.

To close this review. .... will definitely be back for more. I think I might be a carvery convert!!!!

User

Had a drink and a carvery nice. Rosters bit over cooked but not frozen good point Yorkshire's bland and hard.

User

Been to willow farm a few times for no particular occasion. We love the cake away! So took our little ones with friends to the unicorn tea party. Value for money! £4 which inc.unlimited juice, choice of meals off kids menu and unicorn themed activities with prizes. The girls loved it and Sharon the organiser was amazing, friendly & great with the kids! The tea party ended on a high with unicorn ice cream with magic sprinkles! The only disappointing thing was the lack of interest because this was a lovely treat for the kids! We look forward to more themed tea parties x

User

Waited at the bar 10 minutes! myself, my step daughter and another gentleman stood waiting at the bar to be served for almost 10 minutes only to be totally ignored by all bar staff, i left the bar annoyed and without drinks, i went back a second time and still did not get served so my partner went up himself to get served! Also it was so hot inside the pub my 69 yr old mother had to keep going outside to get air before she passed out, it was so hot and very uncomfortable as there was no air conditioning on, other customers were sitting fanning themselves with menus to cool down. However the waitresses were polite and the food was good.

User

Friendly staff but disappointed to be told they only had gammon and pork left on the car very at 6.45pm at night.

Ordered meals off the menu instead and they were OK.. but not the nicest.

Took an hour to come from ordering.

Dessert (carrot cake) however was lovely.

Waitresses were however absolutely lovely and the service made up for the poor standard of meals.

Not worth the money so won’t be returning.

User

Went today for a carvery dinner with my family. I decided too have the Yorkshire pudding wrap. I was very disappointed the roast potatoes were cold and the Yorkshire pudding tough and gravy lumpy. I couldn’t understand how my roast potatoes were cold yet the roast potatoes my family got off the carvery were hot. They was also limited veg on the carvery as well. Won’t be having that again.

User

Went for breakfast today , had looked on the website where it clearly stated 8-12 ... got there 11.03 to be told breakfasts had finished ...

I showed the barmaid/ waitress the web page , , who then went to speak to the Manageress . She said it was definately only till 11 despite it being advertised as 12 , and the Manageress , coincidently , had rang " them ?? " up yesterday to get the time changed but it takes 24hrs to change it on the Willow Farm site ??

we were told we could have the all day breakfast ( same food , twice the price ) ..

Surely the time advertised should have been honoured. ? The Manageress never even came to see me ..

we went elsewhere out of principal not cost .... unbelievable

User

Lunch today 2 course special. Carvery and dessert. No roast potatoes 25 min wait so ordered starter. Pate with chutney and salad. It was brought to us and set down. Where is the chutney. We have none came the reply.

The salad 2 tiny wilted bits of lettuce which I would not have fed to my rabbit. After discussion a fresh proper salad was served

CARVERY. Meat delicious Yorkshire pud ok.

Veggies mediocre. Mushy peas were dried out and the gravy runny and watery.

The saving grace the sweet waitress.

What the chefs were thinking I have no idea. The star rating is for the servers.

My first visit. My last visit. First impressions count!

User

Having been here a few times now normally I enjoy it. I was in on Monday night with the family and I left totally disappointed. The spouts was like bullets I had 3 ends of carrots the bit where the leaves grow, mash was cold and no roast potatoes. When I asked about the roasties the girl said she would bring them to the table but it took 15 mins and the meal was finished by then. £40 spent and it was a waste of money!

User

Visited today awful service and awful food. After waiting an hour for our food to come to the table the waitress approached us to tell us that the kitchen had made a chicken sandwich instead of hunters chicken. Waited another 25 mins for our food to arrive stone cold, not a single waitress approached to ask how it was but went to other tables asking, heard other customers complaining also. Won’t be returning

User

Two families ordered food for the same table within 1 minute of each other.

2 meals turned up after 10 minutes. expecting the 2nd ordered meals to turn up shortly we waited...bad mistake.. 30 minutes later we were still waiting and complained..they arrived minutes later with an apology at which point we complained about our meals being cold from waiting. My wife asked for her meal to be heated up. 10 minutes later and she was given a fresh meal...It was just a total farce. Won't be back.

User

Not impressed as I went in with my 2 month old baby and one of the waiters approached me and informed me that I ‘could not sit there’ with no explanation. When I then asked the lady at the bar she explained that under 12s are not welcome in that area. Which I think is ridiculous considering she is a baby. Were they afraid that I’d breast feed her an offend other people? If so that’s shocking. I had to then ask where I was permitted to sit with my baby and pointed in the direction of the soft play area. Which was freezing with air conditioning. Not going to freeze my baby thanks. So I ended up leaving. Awful!!!

User

Not happy with tonight's service. As soon as we visited we had our eye on the raspberry ripple cake so by the end of our meal we wanted to order it and noticed the 3/4 that were left were disappeared! Asked where it was and was told its only display cake! That's like going past a jewellers and liking a ring in the window to go in and be told they don't sell the ring its just for display!! why have something on display that isnt for sale?!

User

Half the items were missing from the orders. They forgot to bring a cuppa over that was ordered, after 20 mins had to remind them. The chicken was over cooked, hard and dry therefore inedible. Chips were just warm enough to eat. Poor veg selection on carvery. 7 people in our group and we were all disappointed. Won’t hurry back.
