Service fab, a 10 minute wait at bar to order food & drinks but very typical of this type of eatery - but couldn’t fault the staff just not enough of them.. food lovely & hot apart for the carrots which were just warm but choice was excellent... I would certainly revisit xx

I Went for a meal for the 1st time with the family. We had a carvery which to be fair was nice. I’m not slating the place but rather just giving my opinion that the table system they have going on didn’t seem to work with how busy it was getting I think. Plus they told me and my little girl that there was a play area in which we went to find and it was actually mostly a load of grabbing machines that you had to pay for (in which there was lots of unruly children climbing all over so they’ll be broken soon) It would have been better if it was an indoor play place so the kids could let off the steam that needed too. Just a thought x

Having been here numerous times the main meals are good quality and can't fault the deserts. However the carvery in the last few has been very poor. Everything from dry meat, tasteless carrots, tasteless mash and shocking roast potatoes. I came here post Christmas and you were brilliant even making comments that Toby Carvery had some catching up to do, despite us going to Toby for the past 13 years. Sadly I won't ever be having a carvery again and will only visit for the mains and dessert, please go back to what you did before.

Went for breakfast today. Very disappointed. The food was lukewarm and had been standing for a while as it is buffet style. The ultimate breakfast is a rip off. The only difference is you get a bigger plate. You can easily stack the normal plate up.

Bread is available for toast. Plenty of butter but we had to ask for jam twice. They don’t do marmalade. No diabetic jam available.

Very let down as we enjoy the carvery so much.

Well what can I say - here it goes. Awful experience. We booked a table under a recommendation of a friend. We drove 30 minutes for a birthday meal. We arrived and they wanted to sit is in an area which was crowded with people, felt really claustrophobic. We asked to be moved to a quieter area- which they did. We sat down and went up to order our food. We then waited for our food. The restaurant was roasting no air conditioning at all.

The starters came out, two were incorrect and one had chicken on a vegetarian option. Needless to say we complained. Sean one the managers was really lovely and couldn’t apologise enough. He refunded the meal straight away. We then waited for the birthday boys starter which took ages. Again Sean came over to make sure we were okay.

Our mains eventually came out. My steak was really poor for £14.99. Chips and onion rings were cold and the peas were hard. My friend paid for a vegetarian pie on her carvery, which they said wasn’t available. It then came out piping hot - so it was microwaved. The food was warm and very poor. My other friend who had a platter had her food dropped by a young waitress who burnt herself because the plate was to hot and heavy - she should of had help, she was carrying two heavy plates.

We didn’t want to stay for desert as we were very disappointed. We spoke to a gentleman called Johnathan on our exit who was really lovely who refunded the whole meal and apologised. They gave my friend a free cake to!!! Don’t think we will be back anytime soon. We honestly felt like we were on Ant and Decs Saturday night takeaway and there was a hidden camera! As so many issues occurred.

What do you call a salad with no cheddar cheese? A ploughman’s salad...Well that’s what they call it here! When I asked where my cheese was from my ploughman’s the server replied we’ve ran out. Bad show! Totally discussing food! Not one of finished or food...Feel like we’ve been robbed! The outside area was discussing, dirty plates everywhere and no one clearing away. When I asked for cutlery I was looked at like I was asking a stupid question, the server just grunted and pointed to a messy station... avoid at all costs!

User

Went for a meal with my husband before the theatre. Service was slow, an hour wait for food which then wasn't nice at all, chips were hard and both meals were cold. Ordered the smothered chicken and one chicken breast was Completely uncovered and not much on the other one. Very very dissapointed. Will not be going back.

User

Well 20 of us went today to celebrate my friends birthday I can say I will not go be going again first of all the young lads that where serving the meat where very rude talking in their own language because I asked them to cut the fat of the turkey,my friend had plastic in her ice cream then to top it of my other friends son was playing in the child’s area which was full of older children he was pushed a split his head open causing him to have his head glued also there was one first aider in the pub to see that many people disgusted.

User

Today I visited your restaurant as was told it was nice I had the carvery and was massively disappointed first there was no pigs in blankets then there was only gammon and chicken which were disgusting the chicken was a microwave breast (which I know because I work in the hospitality trade) and the gammon was just fatty and chewy the yorkies were cold the potatoes were so bland and so was the vegetables and stuffing the gravy had no taste I am so so so disappointed in the food I'm also pregnant with twins and it has made me feel physically sick and lathargic!!!

User

The tables where filthy and staff wernt brilliant with there responses, the food wasn't brilliant either, for how much it is and how small the bigger plates are too, I'd rather go to China gardens it's cleaner and the food is much better , only good point was they had black pudding available..

User

So go into this establishment for a drink with my work friend after working in the area, we have two drinks and then it kick out time! Fair enough we didn‚Äôt put a fight up but we also had five minutes before we had to vacate the building. Some girl with dark red hair called me and my friend a bitch and we to either go upstairs or leave! I confronted this so called woman with a mouth full of trash and she proceeded to shout obscenities at myself and my friend ( this is all on cctv also I am sure) I asked this woman to not be so rude to us and violent but she proceeded to push and abuse us! She also made me aware she works for this company and her boyfriend is one of the managers there. The manager took my phone off me and has broken my screen as he thought I was videoing even though I was ordering n Uber ūü§∑‚Äć‚ôÄÔłŹ!!!! This piece of work needs the sack! Customer service my arse!

Sitting outside to eat as weather is good for a change walked in to pub for menu to be told there in a bookcase storage unit that contains the menus. On looking in it there were menus that are too small to read and flithy cultery.

On purchasing food and asking for nhs discount told not on weekends, but when buying drinks beforehand told it can be used on food only. On asking for cultery directed to the cupboard but in the end got fresh inside cultery. So not impressed at all. When food arrived the portions were not equal at all and badly presented. Were not offered any condiments and no one came round to check we were happy with food.

Wont be having a meal again here again. Poor service and clearly only focus on carvery meals and inside customers.

User

Ordered my food chicken came out pink!!! Took it back and they brought the same chicken out only heated in microwave it was barley warm and still pink sent it back again! Third time it came out I had finished the rest wasn’t the nicest of meals and won’t be returning again! Staff was great who dealt with it but the chef need to cook food properly!!!

User

Nice enough kids area. Massive option of food. Portions look good, on everyone else’s plates at least. I ordered a salad 47 minutes ago. Still waiting. Despite telling them again and getting an apology 8 minutes ago. I don’t mind much but my 3 year old does.

Food has come. Now three year old needs toilet. Seats need a wipe. No loo roll in the gents. Hand child to wife. No loo roll in ladies.

My rating was 2* but is now 1* as after an hour in this place the kid is crying.

Ultimately the incompetence of the manager to run a small put has turned what should be a nice experience and 4* review into a 1* review.

User

I have been here many times for breakfast and also carvery, but today i was absolutely disgusted.

Arrived for breakfast and sat in the family area, as usual, with my 15 month old. My daughter immediatley ran over to the play area which she loves, only for her to be stopped and told that today is a payable session.

There was some kind of area inside with a sandpit, rice crispies etc and a craft table, none of which my daughter wanted to play with as she loves the treehouse.

All she wanted to play with was the treehouse which is free! But to play in it i had to pay £3.50, as how do you explain to a 15 month old that she cant play on her favourite thing because of a sandpit next to it?

We arrived at 10.20 and were told that it was chargable until 11, but again, how can you tell a child they cant play yet?

I understand that there are extra things that kids could do during this time, but could it not be set up in an area away from the existing toys so that you can pay for just the extra bits if you wanted to, and still have the regular play area for free?

I definatley wont be coming on a Friday again.

User

Had to put one star. Had a carvery tonight the chicken tastes like rubber and so did the gammon, the vegetables were watery and bland. We left our food. Others didn’t have a carvery, the lasagne they had tasted microwaved and just so bland. Actually ended up leaving most of the food and going home feeling quite ill.

User

Came for what we wanted to be a nice meal with family & friends and turned out to be a absolute night mare

Staff serving the food at the carvary were beyond rude laughing and smirking talking in there own language! Not very good costumer service at all, then after how many food orders were wrong my friend found plastic in her ice cream! & then just too top off our night mare of a afternoon my other friends little boy fell and spilt his head open in the play area that was over crowded by older children, the staff were absolutely useless had no idea what to do so obviously weren’t first aid trained I will never in my life visit again!!!!!

User

Been here on several occasions prior to our visit today. I will never set foot inside this place again. Came for the carvery and all that was left was undercooked gammon. There wasn’t any vegetables left, the roast potatoes (what was left of them) were mushed up at the bottom of the serving dish. Consequently, me and my family were all eating at different times and ruined our evening

Dire service, no apology and we were told after, that they were considering closing the carvery section. This place has really gone down in my estimation, a real disappointment

User

Absolute Joke. Spent a lot of money at breakfast time and then stayed for drinks to find out we weren’t allowed to sit at the table, we had to sit on a stool or go outside. Disgusting customer service. Do not deserve the custom. I was told its a restaurant not a bar.... don’t sell drinks then. Simple!!!
