me and my mum have visited this pub 3 times last week as my mum is unwell, so she enjoys going out when she can, we have both been very impressed with the carvery and meals on menu, i also took my husband and some friends there yesterday, and they all also were very impressed, not only with the food but the service and politness of the staff, who couldn't be more helpful, we will certainly be returning this week thankyou all :-)

My family and I had a table of 10 booked for 6.30 on Friday evening, to celebrate my GrandmaвҖҷs 80th. The day of the booking we realised we would prefer a 5.30 booking, the staff were kind enough to move the booking without hesitation. A few of us turned up early and the staff apologised that our table wasnвҖҷt ready, we were early and more than happy to wait at a bar table.

After setting up a tab and ordering at the bar, half were eating from the cavery and half from the main menu. After a short 15/18 minute wait the main meals started to arrive, even after a slight change to one of them, and the carvery people went to get their food.

Everyone enjoyed their meals together, and with 10 different people ordering 10 different meals, I was very impressed. The staff were clearly working very hard and still had a smile on their faces. They were brilliant and almost shocked when we tipped.

Some of the staff seem to be quite new to the industry, but this is expected with all new places. The pub is clearly on the right track to great things I will definitely be back.

Me and Hubby went on the 30th of May about 4pm ish and it was our first time and absolutely loved everything the staff were lovely one waitress called Annette was amazing she was very welcoming very helpful and explained to us where everything was and what to do about ordering.

We had a Carvery we absolutely loved it nothing wrong all cooked very well then for desert we had Brownie and ice cream was majorly shocked wiv how massive the Brownie was and couldn't finish it so took it home and e order an eclair to go and asked for them to cut it in half cause it was blood huge lol but all in all amazing we r going bk for defo next wk.

Went today and the food was lovely, had scampi and the portion was massive and very nice. Only downfall was we ordered a kids meal (the bigger size) pizza and garlic bread for ВЈ4.29 and they came out with a microwave pizza and the smallest slice of garlic bread so be careful if you ever order that. We complained how expensive it was for such a small portion and was able to change it for something else so all in all was a lovely pub.

Went for the carvery today first time we been here, staff very friendly and polite the guy serving the meat was smiley and chatty so nice to see, the food was delicious definitely be back soon, keep up the good work guys and gals

Been here a few times now as I live locally. Each time the food has been great value. Seen several reviews about the food but people seem to forget that you get what you pay for. Prices are good and food is good. Staff have seemed friendly and the service is good.

went today with a table of 15. for 5 adults and two childrenвҖҷs dishes with drinks came to ВЈ55. we had mixed carvery and menu dishes. menu dishes didnвҖҷt take long at all considering it was busy! carvery was ok, yorkshire pudding was dry and the poor chef got told off in front of us for putting the kids yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets on a separate plate! пҝҪ there was no broccoli out and worst of all the sauces were across the entrance!! had to struggle with plates and kids and customers coming in across to the sauce station. also not sure if waitress should of came over and asked how the meal was? kids enjoyed the play area, kept them happy whilst we ate in peace and being sat so close meant they could come and go as they pleased. puddings. absolutely the best part about the trip! overly generous sizing tastes amazing and well worth the money! will definitely be ordingvfor the deserts again! could be improvements but for the price you couldnвҖҷt moan!

Went for breakfast yesterday not a great selection no black pudding as advertised no choice of eggs no fried bread couldn't have toast as toasters were over cooking and burning everything even after turning temp down to minimum

We came last night for my birthday. We had seen and heard good things so thought we'd give it a try. We were told to choose a table that didn't have a reserved sign on and left to it.

During the evening we saw everyone else being shown to their tables, explained where to order from etc and told their table number. Just curious why we weren't. . .

The food was ok. Little overpriced for the quality and amount. The carvery potatoes were not very good which I told the waitress when finally clearing our plates and just got an ok.

All other tables throughout the evening had the obligatory is everything ok with your meal question which we didn't.

Also, some of the tables are very close together. It was like eating with the people next to you and was a little uncomfortable at times when you couldn't help but catch their eye as you would when sitting with people.

And the last thing, drinks. Why do you not to the bottomless refill drinks? Not only the cost factor to your customers when they want more than one drink but the time factor away from your table and food when it's busy queuing to get another one. So many places do it now. It seems strange that you don't. Maybe something to consider. Makes a big difference to a family being able to afford coming out to a restaurant.

Myself and my husband visited on weds and how a nice cooked breakfast.We got there just as breakfast had finished but the staff were kind enough to let us still have it.We had cake and ice cream after,my husband had the giant eclair which was amazing ! The sheer size of it was a shock,he was very happy.The salted caramel ice-cream was nice but disappointed to not have any of the the fudge pieces in it.But after reading the reviews I now know the ice cream isnвҖҷt sold as in the display which is really disappointing.We intended on coming back in the half term for the kids to have unicorn ice cream but we wonвҖҷt now.It should be stated that the ice-cream on display is not what you get,kids get very disappointed.ItвҖҷs false advertising.Staff were lovely though,couldnвҖҷt fault them at all.Would would visit again but wonвҖҷt be rushing back

so father's day breakfast.... went in at 9.30 as we booked a table, got seated shortly afterwards. went and paid for breakfast at the bar.our little daughter wanted small breakfast with our big breakfast from the help yourself section and our older wanted waffles .so my girlfriend went up and got the small breakfast inbetween the waffles came out .so she ate the waffles by the time our youngest Sat down waiting so long to get served. by the time we got ours the kids were bored and finished.bottomless coffee is a joke as we only got one before machines being turned off .. That took over an hour from waffles coming out to us getting ours .was supposed to be for a family father's day breakfast, you need more staff and get the bloody air con sorted out....won't be returning for breakfast again as a family as just rushed, boiling hot and not a great experience..

Visited with our toddler for breakfast. Expected to find the play area as pictured in the photos on this Facebook page. Very disappointed with what we found; a very unimaginative play area with not very much in there. Waited an hour for my food order and had to ask the staff twice where it was. The eggs were good, but that's about it

Sorry been a few times and itвҖҷs been good, tonight was bad and the staff didnвҖҷt seem to give a crap, chef serving car very around 19.30 seemed to be on a deliberate go slow, giant Yorkshire was impossible to cut, no vanilla ice cream but not told until deserts eventually arrived, spoke to staff and they didnвҖҷt seem to care

Good points * seated immediately, clean and friendly staff. Pudding was lovely.



Bad points * bar staff slow, no coke/ Pepsi or anything else we seemed to ask for. вҖңI know itвҖҷs on the menu but we donвҖҷt have it madamвҖқ ( that was just the drinks!)

Carvery looked like it had been there all afternoon. My daughters pig in blanket was black. Rock hard roasters and boiled potatoes. Gravy was made with bisto gravy granules by the taste of it.



WonвҖҷt be going back sorry!

Firstly the main meals where nice, quickly presented to the table and we all ate at the same time. Then it was time for desert and this is where it all goes wrong! The ice creams served are nothing like the display cabinet at all, just a scoop of ice-cream in a tub none of the lovely looking (fake) sweets that are in the display cabinet. Then we get to the cakes, after being served a cake with only the crumb coating on we asked where the buttercream icing was to be met by blank face from 2 of the managers - finally manager number 3 comes along and agreed that the cakes werenвҖҷt finished, swiftly took the cakes out the back and had them finished off. It may have taken an additional 20 minutes to finally get the cakes we had paid for in fact the third manager even gave 3 families a full refund for the cakes as a way of apologising.

Arrived at 9.30 for breakfast.... it was awful but edible... bacon uncooked and ham like looking, black pudding either cremated or dry, eggs over done and hard, everything was all dried out where it had been sat there!!! At 9.30 am itвҖҷs not great really! However, staff were lovely and polite and provided my daughter with a small plate which they didnвҖҷt charge us for due to her age so they are helpful!... And breakfast dearer than a carvery????? ... bit odd. WouldnвҖҷt rush back to try again

Today we decided to go to the Rose Tree Farm for a carvery, travelled from the forest to get there and be told it was 1.5 hours wait when it didnвҖҷt even look busy!! so we asked if they minded telling us why the wait was so long, the reply was staff havenвҖҷt turned in and we have no cutlery so we need time to wash up!!! Terrible If u ask me!! Such a shame as we have been before and enjoyed it hence we decided to return!! WonвҖҷt be returning again!!!

Just returned home from having tea sadly to say will not be returning.

Me the wife and 2 young children were eating my wife chose the carvery asked the chef if she could not have the end bit as it looked fatty she was told "it's fine it's not fat" my son went for fish fingers when they arrived they were hard and dry what in Think was manager came and said he'd replace also telling my wife hed get more Gannon for her.

None of whitch ever came leaving my son hungry. The manager did take off the fish fingers.

Another thing putting me off was the chefs their jackets were filthy dirty.... And no apron

Don't the know the chef uniform is there to protect the food from them and not other way round.... this I'll be reporting to EHO. As its a major and very serious health and safety breach

I come for a bite to eat with my son I was sat opposite the carvery .the guy servicing the meat used his fingers .when putting the potatoes in a different pot .plus he was using his fingers 2 check the blade on the knife .then he cut some meat .I was going to come in with a party of 12 for my son 18th birthday .but after what I have seen I am going 2 go somewhere else .
