Went for a meal at Monksbridge today for my mums birthday. We ordered food and were told it would be a 30 minute wait, that was fair enough seen as though they were extremely busy. Time past and it’d been around 40 minutes since ordering, a member of staff (Amy) come up to us and explained we’d have to wait another 10-15 minutes as they were having problems in the kitchen, after apologising she then offered to get us all a drink free of charge for the inconvenience. When the meal arrived we were all 100% happy with our food, it was definitely worth the wait! Amy even said after our main we could have a dessert each on the house- brilliant. Not only did we get a choice of something from the dessert menu but we were told we could choose off of the amazing cakeaway display too. Amy couldn’t have been any more apologetic for our wait, her customer service skills were outstanding and her alone would make anyone want to come back and visit Monksbridge. What could have been a unpleasant and draining experience were in fact one that we are walking away with super happy about- thanks again Amy!

We visited here tonight, I ordered my food with no potatoes, when it arrived it had them on so the waitress took it away, only to have an accident and slipped in the kitchen dropping my food, so had to wait for another to be cooked. The staff were brilliant and gave us complimentary drinks and garlic ciabatta to nibble on till our order arrived. They couldn’t have been more helpful. When the food did arrive it was worth the wait. Just beautiful .All in all a lovely evening. Thankyou

We came to Monks bridge farm last Saturday for our daughter's 3rd birthday. We booked for over 30 people. We arrived and had a section closed off for us which was lovely. The service was excellent, the food was amazing and wasn't kept waiting long at all. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure we were all ok. They even brought our daughters cake out and all sang to her which really made her day as well as ours. Honestly we couldn't be more happier we will recommend you to everyone and will be back for more of the yummy carvery. Thank you!!

Me and 3 friends brought our kids to the FREE science experiment today and they loved it. Thanks so much to Nicki for running it and doing such a good job, you always keep the kids entertained. Looking forward to the next holidays when more activities are on.

I’m giving this 5 star not just the pub but to a woman that attended to us on good Friday. I think her name is Nicky. Anyway we went in for breakfast which was good. But the highlight for the morning was Nicky doing the crispy buns. My kids absolutely loved it and Nicky was so intent on keeping the kids happy as well as running around like a headless chicken attending to the breakfast, the tables, the toast, bringing food out. As you can see she was doing a lot of jobs on her own which shouldn’t be happening. There was enough staff there that could have helped her. You could see she was just taking everything in her stride and did the best she could. People were moaning about the toast taking so long and no bread so she sorted it straight away yet no one else even battered an eye lid. I appreciate that bar staff are for the bar etc but if your not busy surely your job is to make sure someone isn’t doing 5/6 or even more jobs at once and helping. I have worked in this sort of environment for a long time in past and if one of the staff were doing this i would have helped not ignored the fact she was doing all these jobs. I have already spoken to someone about this vaguely but just want people to know that Nicky is an asset to your business, she is polite and so lovely with the kids. Enjoy the fact you have a good worker but don’t take advantage!!!

User

Always such lovely friendly service from the staff. Ordered from the menu on a busy Sunday but didn’t have to wait too long for food. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Amy is always so friendly and welcoming x

User

A lovely family meal today , great food and fast efficient friendly service .

The portion sizes are huge I may have to order a snack next time

Visited with my friend this evening, staff friendly and attentive. Had a slight query which was quickly resolved by the manager who had taken the time out to come over and talk to us which was massively appreciated. Me and my friend both tried the Victoria’s sponge cake which was to die for, we will be returning again soon

User

Nice menus plenty of choice. staff good reliable service ,drinks bit pricey.

User

Nice clean restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere. Enjoyed my meal although I couldn’t finish all. Just too much food for me.

I've been here many times but today I think will be my last visit. I visited with my 16 month old son my mum and aunt. We sat in the family area and my mum was watching my son in the farmyard area marked 5 years and under, around 5 older children from around 12 to 15 came and started climbing and jumping all over the play area nearly kicking my son in the head. Two members of staff saw this happening and said nothing even when we pointed out what has happened. Not acceptable at all.

User

1st we have had an issue here. Treated ourself to breakfast, paid for 3 standard buffet breakfasts. Was 1st of all offended by given a small plate when everyone else got a normal plate.... I paid the same price why should I get a small? That got changed when I asked, then had to wait 15 mins for bacon and hash browns. Was told there was no fried bread as they run out.... table full of bread for toast, surely you can just do some more, eggs wasn’t cooked and no scramble egg, so basically paid £7 for some beans hash brown and sausage. No staff cleared our table after an hour so I couldn’t even speak to anyone about it sorry guys not ur best efforts, we was regular in there but dowt we come back in a rush

User

We came for my nephews 5th Birthday meal tonight, we booked a table for 13! A few of the party decided on carvery but once they’d sat down we soon came to realise it was all cold. Literally everything on the plate! Luckily Hannah who looked after us was very nice about this & replaced all the meals!

The rest of us ordered from the kitchen which took a while, but it was busy so I can understand that! The kids meals came, which the food was standard but the plates were far too hot to be even near the kids!!! Why you would serve a 5 year old food with a plate that was burning an adult I’ll never know! (Waitress never said it was hot either, this wasn’t Hannah though)

I asked Hannah to make sure the manager knew about all this but no sign of any manager! Plus the kids never even saw their ice cream that came with their meals. Definitely will not be coming back!

User

Roasties, parsnips and stuffing cremated. Hard carrots, soggy broccoli and sprouts and very very salty gravy. All in all horrid. Won’t be returning!

User

Had many visits to this place and to be fair for the money never really had a bad meal . This morning I thought I would give the breakfast menu a whirl - Never again , dirty cutlery to the confusing not so confusing upgrade menu and the assistant giving it the MC Hammer with her hands - you can't keep upgrading , no muffins left for eggs Benedict, no plates left for my toast and then when I finally received my breakfast it was the worst eggs Benedict Ive ever had - what is your sloppy hollandaise all about ? My lady friend had scrambled eggs with a side of bacon which also looked/ tasted horrid - sloppy and bacon with more fat on it than my right thigh ( I would not have fed the dogs this bacon ) .

Anyway most of both meals were left and I waited 30 minutes for a waiter to take the plates away to tell her/him how poor it really was , this never happened so I left MBF wishing i had gone to roy croppers cafe instead .

User

Come here quite a lot as we only live around the corner but came for lunch today and don't think we will be back, the pub had so many flies it's quite disturbing and as I was leaving I noticed flies around the salad bar as well! I had a jacket potato with tuna, the worst meal Ive had there, the potato was dry and had about a teaspoon of tuna in it, and the salad consisted of lettuce leaves and grated carrot, I'm not quite sure how old the salad was but I actually had a couple of slimy lettuce leaves and the carrot was so dehydrated it was more white than orange! Definitely enough to put me off! think we need to find a new local.

User

Came as a party of 20, and all of my table (3 of us) had an issue with food.

1) Jacket potato was cold, tuna was off.

2) Yorkshire pudding was tough, hard to cut!

3) Diane chicken had a spider leg in it!! Took it back and they started saying it was charcol never seen charcol with limbs that move hahaha! Took it back, and they just brought the same plate back with different chicken, but the spider leg was on the plate? Came for a meal not to do a bush tucker trial

Should get a free meal when reserving for a party over 6, got nothing until we asked..

Staff were nice i suppose.. that's about it.

Will NOT be coming back at all!!

As regular customers who normally think highly of this place I was appalled with the service that I got on my last visit. It was Sunday at 5:30pm and there was a 30 minute wait on tables. Whilst waiting my 5 month old baby required feeding, I asked one of the waitresses if there was somewhere I could feed my baby and she pointed to the high bar stools, I explained that it was too high and I needed a back rest and she said there wasnt anywhere. I asked the man (in management) the same question and he gave me the same response about the high bar stools. I was then told that all the tables were busy and that there wasnt any spare chairs even though there was a random one right next to them!!!! I pointed to the chair and was told I could have the chair put in the toilets to feed my baby!!! How appalling!!! Whoever in their right mind thinks its hygienic for a baby to be fed in the toilets!!!!! I took the chair myself near the fire sxit and fed my baby. 10 minutes later we were called to our table only to find a load of tables unoccupied with dirty plates etc or reserved!!!!!!! Surely I could have sat at one of those tables... disgusting customer service...

User

Absolutely disgraceful Service, the girl who brought the food out dropped it on the table then decided to pick it up with her hand and put it back on the plate for my son to eat , no sorry or anything. When another staff member was informed we were told she would "have a word with her" and then said "I've not been here long so don't know what to do" no offer of anything different. We will never return!
