Last Wednesday evening Farnham Sinfonia held its very first 'Sponsors Evening' at St Thomas on the Bourne. The evening begun with wine, food and socialising, followed by Sinfonia Conductor Matthew Taylor giving a light-hearted introduction to Mozart’s Horn Concerto, which is to be played at the next concert in March. This was followed by a concert with the Dorette Duo for Violin and Harp with Elizabeth Cooney, Violin and Sally Pryce, Harp. Their Programme included:
Rossini... - Andante con Variazioni Saint-Saens - Fantaisie Piazzolla - Café 1930 and Bordel 1900 from L'Histoire du Tango Elgar - Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit Monti - Czardas
Everyone who attended the evening very much appreciated the excellent work that had gone on by Matthew, Elizabeth and Sally to make the evening such a success and in such an intimate space.
The idea of the Sponsors Evening is to bring together in an informal gathering, supporters, sponsors and musicians to meet each other and socialise once a year.
