Q. What is vinyl wrapping?

A. Vinyl wrapping is most commonly used to revitalize cars and change colour or finish for considerably less than the cost of a re-spray. It allows people to try fashionable styles like pearlescent or matt, or just to re-colour areas like the wing mirrors, roof or door panels for a new look.

Q. How long does Vinyl wrapping take?

A. Installation times vary according to the size of the car and complexity of the project. A vehicle with a lot of complex curves takes a lot longer to do. You are looking at 2 to 3 days that includes the wrapping and a rest period for the film.

Due to the nature of the adhesive of the vinyl and the complex curves to which it’s applied, there is a 24 hour “rest period” after the application to allow the film to fully adhere to the vehicle.

Q. How long do Vinyl Wraps last?

A. We usually give a lifespan of 3-5 Years. Wraps are just like paint, if you take care of them, they’ll last. If you don’t take care of them, just like paint, you’ll find their lifespan decreases.

Any kind of Matte colour vinyl has a slightly shorter life span due to the fact that it doesn’t have a clear coat over the top, protecting the film. Printed wraps, and gloss colours have a clear laminate over the top, which offers better protection.

Q. Can I remove the Vinyl?

A. As long as the vinyl hasn’t been left on for years past it’s original lifespan (5 + Years) and it wasn’t applied directly after the vehicle was painted (always wait at least 3 weeks after a paint job! ), your wrap can be removed without any damage to the paint job underneath.
