About Fda - Fast Stream Section
We are a professional association and union for the UKs Civil Service Fast Stream programme.
Representing Fast Streamers across all streams
Fda - Fast Stream Section Description
The FDA represents the senior and professional levels of the UK Civil Service. The FDA's original name - the Association of First Division Civil Servants - was registered in 1918. Over time, what became widely known as the 'First Division Association' established a reputation for successfully representing the interests of senior managers and professionals in government. Given the public sector's fondness for acronyms, the moniker 'the First Division Association' evolved naturally into 'the FDA'.
The union formally adopted the FDA as its name in 2001.
In 2017 the FDA announced that it would form the Fast Stream Section, giving to Fast Streamers the same rights within the union as other professional bodies.
After the announcement the Fast Stream section committee was formed. It continues to represent and support fast streamers throughout their time on the development scheme.
