Federation Skills Trust

About Federation Skills Trust

We are a charity registered in England and Wales number 1192334 whose object is: The advancement of education by promoting, whether directly through financial or other support, the training and teaching of engineering skills and processes and by encouraging and supporting the development and transference of skills appertaining to the repair, maintenance, preservation and renovation of all types of heritage transport, historic vehicle and machinery. We were constituted as a product of the cooperation between The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, Bicester Heritage and The Galashan Trust in creating one of the world's first vehicle restoration apprenticeship programmes, beginning in 2014. Since then, our aims have broadened to other heritage engineering sectors including steam and rail, marine and aviation. We provide grants to qualified training providers to help with the cost of workshop and teaching equipment and we also administer bursaries to heritage engineering apprentices and trainees.
