Very short notice but we've been asked to publicise a workshop on universal credit happening at CAFAG at The Whitfield Valley Centre tomorrow. Its run by the Potteries Gold team and is on between 10-12. Book a place first thing by calling 01782 878843 or you can probably just turn up.

Unfortunately our two groups with Attend Sport, Tumble Gym on a Monday morning and sports on a Friday, have had to stop for a while. We will let you know when they are starting again or if anything new is happening - watch this space.

The majority of our regular activities are back on this week. Why not try something new for the new year. Amongst the activities we have our lunch club tomorrow for those aged 50+ (2 courses for £4; 12 noon) and for the younger age group there is boogie beats on Thursday morning at 9.30 (its free).

Ay-Up Duck, we had fun at the Hub today! Great to welcome over 40 people for some family fun. Thanks to the team from Port Vale for providing the sports activities and financially supporting the event and thanks to our fab volunteers and the parents who got stuck in to help. If you visited our photo booth (or took any other photos) and are happy to share them we'd love to see them.

Just a reminder - for those who have booked our family fun session tomorrow is from 11am to 1pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

For many January is a difficult time financially. The CAP Money Course is a free course that will teach you budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. In just a few weeks, you will get to grips with your finances so you can budget, save and prevent debt. This course is happening in Newchapel. If you can't make it to Newchapel but would be interested in doing the course please comment or PM us and we will see if they will run one locally.

A new programme of dance classes starts next week. New youngsters welcome. Contact Danceline or just turn up on Tuesday.

Food is one of our favourite things at the Hub - particularly cooking and sampling what's been made. During 2018 we hosted cook & eat well classes for adults and families and had fun at the Little School of Improbable Cooking over the summer. If you fancy learning to cook in 2019 enrol now for WEA's Learn to Cook course which starts on 16th Jan 11-1 (this course is for adults). For more details message us or call 0300 303 3464. Booking is essential.

Happy New Year from everyone at Fegg Hayes Futures. We are looking forward to another year being part of the community and offering more opportunities for people, of all ages, to come together, have fun and grow.

We love our friendly, fun creative Thursday mornings. For little ones its Boogie Beats, a fun time of music and movement with Giggles the Monkey and then for everyone its the Place of Welcome and craft cafe. This Thursday Fegg Hayes Methodist Community church is running Messy Church but the usual activities will be back on the week after.

During the year we’ve been busy fundraising with two giant raffles and fundraising stalls at various events. Whilst we have grants to support some aspects of our work and we get income from hiring out the Hub and from activities we run we need to raise more funds to enable us to continue to run the Hub and operate the range of activities we do. There are a number of ways you can help us continue our work – some won’t cost you anything: Sign up to support us for free when you... shop on-line https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes /fegghayesfut/ Play the PottoLotto, choosing Fegg Hayes Futures as your charity and be in with the chance of winning £25,000 every week. Make a one off or regular donation. Support our raffles and other fundraising throughout the year or get in touch if you’d like to organise your own fundraising event for us. Hire the Hub for your child’s birthday party. Get in touch for more details.

Every Friday morning toddlers take over the Hub as its parent & toddler group. We have a selection of toys, games and activities plus snacks for all. We are one of the few groups that runs all year round (apart from Christmas) and over the school holidays we welcome older siblings as well. The growing group starts again on 11th January. If anyone is interested in volunteering to help run this group please message us or pop in to the Hub when we reopen.

This year we were delighted to be part of the 'Ay Up' Duck project offering food, sports, crafts and activities for families over the summer holidays and a Halloween party at half term. We are having our next event on Friday 4th January. Tickets have been offered first to those who we couldn't accommodate for the Halloween party but we still have a few spaces left for any families that are interested. Please message us if you would like to come.

Whilst the Hub is closed until 3rd January we thought we'd take the opportunity to look back at some of the highlights from 2018 and look forward to some of the things coming up in 2019. Back in March we organised a Community Lantern parade. Despite the weather being awful on the evening there was a good turn out and we are planning a bigger and better (and hopefully drier) parade for 2019. Look out for more information coming soon.

A few pics from our toddler Christmas party with a few of the crafts that have been made. Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas x see you all in the New Year.

Unfortunately tomorrow's sports session with the team from Attend Sportt has had to be cancelled. Why not pop along to CAFAG at The Whitfield Valley Centre instead and join in their Christmas fun.
