Just a normal day at Fiesta Latina!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, This announcement is to make public that our restaurant Fiesta Latina on Clifford Street is about to close down for refurbishment. This could take 6 month, maybe one year. However, we might also not reopen at all or we might have to relocate. Either way, our last day will have to be on Saturday, November the 17th then we will be closed from Sunday November the 18th.... These last days are looking exceptionally busy, so I would highly recommend everyone of you who wish to come for a meal to reserve to guarantee a seat. While visiting York with old friends we took advantage of a Groupon deal. Wow what an amazing experience/restaurant! We loved it! Our portions were big maybe too big as we couldn't finish our meal ÔøΩÔøΩand the cocktailsÔøΩ were lushÔøΩ. Would we recommend this restaurant yes most definitely, staff where friendly and if you're after an authentic Mexican restaurant then this is a must! Thank you for a lovely meal ÔøΩ

Went 4pm yesterday with 3 others on a Groupon voucher and gotta say we all 4 loved it. The service was very efficient-the cocktail pitcher was very alcoholic and the food was delightful, portions were generous and we were all full as frogs when we left.

Definitely going again.

Visited for the first time with my friend yesterday after wanting to eat here for over a year and wow! We was both so impressed by the standard of the food, it was amazing. We had both a starter and a main ÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩ the staff were friendly and helpful and the decor was ÔøΩ

We will most definitely be visiting again! My friend even said it was the best mash potato she had ever had and my enchiladas were crazy tasty, couldn’t have eaten them again haha.

The food is loverly. Very tasty. Defo worth a try .

Both the drinks and the food were delicious - portions were huge and we ended up leaving some because we were so full! We wanted to try the churros but honestly didn't have room! Would definitely return and will be recommending to friends who visit York (we are not from the area). Thank you for an enjoyable evening :)

Pretty authentic Mexican food. Starters were like main courses, glad I opted for mixed olive starter. (lovely olives) We struggled to finish our food but that was more to do with the fact we had a late lunch. The staff were more than happy to package up our left overs in take away cartons. Sun - Thurs is buy one get one free on cocktail and they have a great selection which were already reasonably priced.

My partner and I came in tonight on the Groupon deal.



Firstly I would like to say the staff here were first class. We arrived an hour earlier than booked and they seated us right away with big smiles and made us feel very welcome.



We ordered our food, my partner ordered voodoo chilli wings as a starter, he absolutely adores anything spicy and this was right up his street!! After asking the waiter what chillis were in the homemade marinade the chef took it upon himself to put a little dish of it on his main! Which delighted my partner no end.



Both my food and his food was very very delicious and with the Groupon deal only £18!!!!!!



We also very much enjoyed the 2 4 1 cocktails on offer from 6pm. Incredible value.



Before we left the chef even came to our table completely unexpected.. told us how to make the sauce and we've got some to take home.



Thank you so much guys. The staff, food and atmosphere were completely on point. We will be back again!! We also loved the hats and music ÔøΩÔøΩÔøΩ

Just returned from Fiesta Latina and can't think of anything negative to say about the place. From entering the place to leaving it the staff were absolutely brilliant, attentive and informative. They greeted us with a smile, led us to our table and looked after us all the time we were there. We were on a Groupon deal which was extremely good value and we didn't feel like second class customers at all. The decor in the place is very authentic to the Mexican theme. We will definitely be returning, it's a real hidden gem. Thanks to everyone who made our visit very enjoyable.

Great food, excellent service and (most importantly of all for us) a fantastic kids menu. Really refreshing to go somewhere that offers kids ribs, salmon steaks and other "proper" food. Both the girls (aged 6 and 9)and the adults (aged 38)really enjoyed it

Great ambience to this place and the food was amazing. We had a sharer starter between two which was really tasty but was a mistake as I couldn't finish my main course. The quality of the food is excellent and to be fair it does say on the door that your diet will go out of the window. Totally true. I will be going back to sample some of of the other dishes on offer.

Will definitely try the medium next time though. Portion sizes were too much for us but they were happy for us to take it home. Can't wait to go again and try their cocktails, especially 2-4-1.

No drama, good service, good food, busy enough but still attentive, only the cramped seating let it down, the sombrero lamp shades are a nice touch.

Lovely venue. The food was beautiful, plenty of it and was really hot. The staff were very nice and friendly, There were 20 of us and we didn't have to wait very long at all for the food to arrive. One of our party had a problem with her meal so we mentioned it to the waitress and she said she would have a word with the Manager, who then came over and was very apologetic and said she would deduct the price of the meal from the bill and also gave my friend a free drink, Very nice touch we thought and was dealt with very discreetly. My only criticism is that the toilets could have been cleaner, the sinks looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a few days (but then I am a touch OCD re bathrooms etc). Would definitely return if in York again.

Great little place in York, not what I expected to find, pleasant surprise and some of the best Mexican I can remember having. Good service, great food, reasonable prices, worth dropping in if you have a hankering for Mexican

Lovely staff ... food was a little bit of a let down nachos bit overdone n tasted cheap had much better ones .. sweet corn on husbands starter of pesto bruchette was weird!! My son enjoyed both his starter of cheesy bruchetta and hot dog main . my main course chicken fajitas was nice but again have had better.

Been wanting to return to Fiesta Latina since working in York a few years back, and I was left slightly disappointed. My meal, the Grand Slam was alright. When I asked for the Diablo sauce on it which I had previously, the staff were very unsure, but in the end I had it with Diablo sauce, however It was only mildly hot at the suicidal heat level, and lacked the same taste as three years back. My Wife opted for the classic burger which was dry, and a bit tough on the edges. The service was pretty sub par too.



It really pains me to say the above, as years ago this place was top of my list, but will be reluctant to return. Maybe it was just a bad night, but it was quiet for a Saturday, and for my wife's first time visiting she was questioning what all the fuss was about.



I will say if you are reading this review, still try Fiesta if you are fancying some comfort food. We may have just had a one off bad experience, and you may love it.

What an evening, sat down at just before 8pm having booked a table for two on our trip to York.. Having asked what had happened to our starter at 8.35pm we received an apology that our order had gone missing, was offered a free glass of wine and promised our meal would be rushed to the head of the queue.. 9pm we got our shared Garlic bread starter.. So much for urgency .. At 9.20pm we asked for the bill and left... No main and even an incorrect bill so I had to ask for it to be changed..

Ruined our weekend... Nothing to eat on a Saturday night... A packet of crisps in the hotel... No apology just a sorry.. We had a big party in ... But once you see others who came in later than you eating you know you are being lied to... We were not the only ones.. The takeaway couple waited 45 mins for their food and then three things were missing.. The four ladies next to us did better.. The got food.. But did have to complain once they had waited..

Fortunately I will never have to go here again

Was very optimistic when walking in, looked like a great, fun place, even went in early to take advantage of the 241 cocktails. Then it changes! Got stuck downstairs where it was extremely chilly, waited for about 15 mins for someone to take our order, waited over 30 mins for starter and a long wait again for mains. All in all it took over 2 hours to have a two course meal! Food was quite good to be fair but another disappointment was the service. I will just say that the female serving us should definitely NOT work in customer service. To end on a positive, the cocktails were very well made and tasty.
