About Fiesta: The Sun Also Rises / West End

FIESTA (The Sun Also Rises)

Based on Ernest Hemingway's classic
Adapted for the stage and directed by Alex Helfrecht

FIESTA is the tale of Jake, an American writer living in 1920's Paris. Obsessed with bullfighting, he shares a giddy social life with expat novelist Robert Cohn. The arrival of the irresistible Lady Brett Ashley, a mysterious figure from Jake’s traumatic past, begins to wreak havoc between Jake and his friend. Against his better judgement, Jake takes Brett to the macho world of bullfighting in Pamplona, Spain, where their past indiscretions come back to haunt them. Following the wild highs and deep lows that define the American experience in interwar Europe, this is a story of love, loss and decadence.

Featuring a stellar ensemble of actors paired with explosive live jazz act Trio Farouche, free flowing booze, dynamic choreography, and a contemporary design take on the sexy 20's, this bold production sees the novel's sensual, kinetic beauty and its brutal, raw subtext transported onto this intimate stage.

Live Jazz Music by Trio Farouche
Starring Josie Taylor, Gideon Turner, Jye Frasca and Jack Holden
Produced by Philip Munger, Jörg Tittel and George Warren
Choreography by Sonja Perreten
Associate Produced by Jessica Ritter-Holland
Set Design by Rachel Noel
Lighting Design by Christopher Nairne
