I am sad to say that one of our previous riding school ponies, Ellie, has left us and gone to horsey heaven. Thank you so much Kate Scott for taking such good care of Ellie. I know she was very much loved . x

Free Professional Qualifications – Anytime, Anywhere
... Durham County Council have launched an exciting new initiative that aims to improve access to learning to adults wanting to improve their employment prospects. The new project ‘DurhamLearn’ provides an innovative approach to delivering work related skills through a hybrid model of learning that incorporates classroom learning with online learning through an interactive learning environment. Supported by the Department for Education, it’s the first pilot of its type to be trialled by the Adult Learning and Skills Service providing learners with a flexibility that responds to the challenges that the county’s social, economic and geographical diversity presents. The pilot is set transform how learners can access high quality training in the future and it aims to develop its offer to include vocational qualifications from entry level to industry specific qualifications up to and including level 2 accessible anytime, anywhere from a fully responsive facility.
Courses range from short professional development qualifications that take a few hours through to full maths and English qualifications that are tailored in a virtual learning environment replacing traditional classroom based study with flexible learning that fits around other commitments.
There is a range of courses available including:
L1/L2 Functional Skills in Mathematics L1/L2 Functional Skills in English L1 Award in IT User Skills L2 Certificate in IT User Skills Ascentis Award in Equality & Diversity Ascentis Award in Mental Health & Wellbeing Ascentis Award in Health & Safety Ascentis Award in Healthy Living
Courses are available free of charge until March 2019 and are available to anybody aged 18+ living in County Durham who would like to improve their skills and employment prospects.
If you would like to register on the programme you can come along to an Open Event on Tuesday 27th November 10am -1pm at The Sjovoll Centre, Front Street, Pity Me, Durham, DH1 5BZ.

Fancy dress/ Christmas costume is encouraged but not compulsory. Classes are intro A, prelim 13 (2006) ,novice 28 (2008) , and Pony Club Dengie Novice Qualfier . £12 per class. To enter either call into riding school to fill in entry form with cash or enter via paypal. please put your details onto paypal. use link paypal.me/susanmordey. CLOSING DATE 12th December. times should be available the Friday before the competition. all results given approx. 15 mins after final last test in presentation format. there will be a prize for the best fancy dress combination

Susan, Jeff and the team are brilliant! The School is a fantastic, safe, well managed environment for the children to learn and enjoy the riding. Caitlyn misses everybody and hopes to be back soon x

Sophie goes every week she come on so well since she started there cause she was so scared of riding but they worked with her now she doing brilliant

My daughter has been riding there for a year and she has learned a lot. Amazing riding School

Introductory session for my cousins 2 and 4 yr old . brilliant time and the instructors were perfect for teaching such young children. They did really well and are desperate to return.

Honestly can’t recommend this riding school enough! Daughter has had her second lesson here after losing her confidence and even after a short period of time I can see it all coming back! Gone from nervous child on a lead rein to trotting around arena on her own! Owner/instructor is amazing and made the lessons enjoyable for my daughter.

Daughter has biggest smile on her face from the moment we drive into the place to the time she goes to bed!

Fantastic school with fantastic people. Grace loves it and everyone is so nice. Highly recommend finchale view to everyone I speak to
