The best fish and chip shop in Teignmouth I love their calamari would definitely recommend this place
Good food. Friendly staff. What more could you want?
Excellent place...went there yesterday and had small fish & chips special....fish was anything but small, a large beautifully battered piece of fish and just enough chips..great value for money....lovely friendly welcome and service cannot fault...some of the nicest fish we've had and the best in Devon this week
Very busy little place. Fish is ok but a bit lacking in taste whilst the chips though plentiful are sadly under cooked. Beans cost £1 but are tiny pots. Whole order came to nearly £30 so not cheap. I asked for a small plastic spoon to eat the beans. They don't sell them but did charge me 5p for a small plastic FORK even after paying all that money 🤔. Ok if you are stuck and hungry but there are much better places than this as they just want the profit. Certificates are plastered all over the walls mentioning staff compliance in food hygiene. Nobody was wearing a cap so expect hair in your batter ☹️
First time sat oUtside had cod no chips
The quality was excellent batter crisp fish fresh perfectly cookEd
Not had better
Very good fish, chips, and mushy peas. The calamari is excellent, but they’re huge so you don’t get many in a portion. Massive pickled gherkins too!
Very good fish and chips. Best in teignmouth, without doubt.
I have tried almost every fish and chip shop on the South Devon coast and this is definitely in my top 3.
Perfectly cooked fish. Battered Cod was succulent and yummy. Chips were good but not the best I've had from them.
Great meals will be back. 😄
Excellent fish and chips; probably the best in the area, with really nice staff and great service.
Came past on Friday, and the restaurant had only 2 customers. We wanted to sit at our usual bench seats, but the waitress refused and said we had to sit by the window.
We asked why, and the waitress said that the bench seats were for disabled people in wheelchairs as they would otherwise block the passage if sat at other tables. I asked if they were expecting 8 disabled people to arrive at the restaurant that evening to take all the bench seat spaces. Anyhow we were refused seats there.
1. They have a really tall step at the entrance so disabled people in wheelchairs can't get in anyway - build a ramp would be a good start!
2. We went to eat elsewhere. The restaurant was completely empty when we came back past.
I suspect the management has instructed the waitress to encourage people to sit at the window to make it look more full. A bit of a training problem when the staff then lie to regular customers and drive them away. Quite a change of attitudes at the restaurant because I remember a previous meal there was an obnoxious customer shouting about how his fish tasted terrible and they bent over backwards to offer him a free replacement at the same time as a refund etc.
Great welcome from staff. Reasonable price nice food. We sat down in the rear where several tables. Clean and good choice.
