Fish'O'Mania

The annual 'FA Cup of Fishing' extravaganza that is Fish'O'Mania returns to Hayfield Lakes, Doncaster on Saturday, July 13 and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports throughout.

July 2019 sees the record-breaking 26th edition of the world's No. 1 coarse fishing match – Fish’O’Mania.

Televised live from start to finish, the competition has been a regular fixture in the British sporting calendar since its inception in 1994.

Broadcast for 5 1 /2 hours live, Sky Sports give fishing the big-time makeover as their big budget state-of-the-art production highlights fishing in a way unrivalled in televised sport.

The brainchild of Matchroom Sport chairman Barry Hearn in the early 90’s, Fish’O’Mania was a success from the start as the inaugural event at Mallory Park was won by Ian Turner of Worksop.

Since then the event has moved around; initially to Hallcroft Fisheries in Retford, then to Hayfield Lakes in Doncaster; its home for 11 years. In 2008 the competition moved to Cudmore Fisheries near Stoke until it returned to Hayfield Lakes in 2018.

With 24 qualifying matches across England and Europe starting in the spring, over 2, 500 anglers enter but there will be only one winner who takes home the £50, 000 top prize.
